DO YOU KNOW AND ARE YOU DOING THE SEVEN EDEN MANDATES?

Welcome to Awake, Arise, and Triumph Ministries and the continuation of our Bible Study titled “The Salvation Package”. The question is this, what does salvation mean? What does it mean to be saved? Is there really a salvation package? It seems to me that a common understanding is that when one is saved, they are going to Heaven not Hell when they die. It seems that the common message conveyed is that when we give our heart to the Lord, we go to Heaven someday, and in the meantime, we are to develop our character to be more like Jesus. Is that all that salvation or being saved means? I believe we will see as we move into this study that salvation is indeed a package with more than one item in the package. In fact, everything good, good as defined by God, is in the salvation package. Why isn’t the whole message of salvation preached and taught? Last Thursday I left off speaking of God’s original intent for mankind. Today I am using the Amplified version of Scripture which is a word for word translation with amplification of word meanings whereas the New Living Translation is a thought for thought translation. By the way, concerning the eternal mandates God does not change.
Genesis 1:26-28 (AMP)
26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.
27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.
We see in verse twenty-six that man has dominion, authority, to handle things just like God, over all created things in the earth including the earth itself. We see in verse twenty-seven that mankind is either male or female, anything else is perversion. Then in verse twenty-eight we find the first four of seven eternal commands for mankind. We are to be fruitful; we are to multiply, we are to fill the earth and subdue the earth (conform it to Heaven). Three more commands follow in chapter two.
Genesis 2:15-17 (AMP)
15 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
We are to take care of all that is in our jurisdiction, our assignment, and we are to guard it. Finally, number seven is that we not partake of the knowledge of good and evil. Hopefully you know how that worked out for Adam and Eve, and it will be no better for any of us. Unfortunately, I see this going on in the body of Christ as if that is how we are to live.
TAKE HOME:
- We are to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill (keep replenished) the earth, to subdue the earth and all that is in it and on it, care for it, guard it, and not mix the knowledge of good and evil.
- The salvation package is not only a list of benefits but a list of obligations, non-negotiable obligations.
- There is nothing good as defined by God excluded from the salvation package.
