ENTER INTO PEACE

Greetings dear and precious saints, the redeemed of the Lord and welcome back to our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this and every teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. The featured picture today is provided by Marilyn Stevens who takes such wonderful wildlife pictures. Thank you, Marilyn. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 57:1-4 (KJV)
1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
I ended yesterday with the first two verses of this passage. There are two things I want to touch on before moving ahead in this chapter. First these are righteous people. At salvation a person is made righteous before God, it requires only submission to God in faith.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Sadly, many today are perishing with poverty of every kind not knowing or exercising authority over poverty, over the curse. I am not talking about just financial poverty but in health and every other arena of life. Let me ask is any of this and premature death ever the will of God? I hope you answered with a resounding NO! The following passage associated with the Communion Table tells us why many are weak, sickly, and have been swept into Heaven prematurely.
1 Corinthians 11:29-30 (KJV)
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
I realize we are working from an Old Testament text but the animal sacrifice of that day looked forward to the Messiah and it was what protected them from all the curse in Goshen and brought them out of bondage with zero curse. Now, let’s look at the very last phrase of verse one of our text, “none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come”. This is the King James Version and it makes it sound like they were “taken” in order to avoid the evil to come. I do not believe that to be the case at all. There is always evil present and evil to come, the question is this, will we be overcomers or succumb to the evil? Let’s look at the Holman Christian Standard Bible.
Isaiah 57:1 (HCSB)
1 The righteous one perishes, and no one takes it to heart; faithful men are swept away, with no one realizing that the righteous one is swept away from the presence of evil.
The upside of these righteous ones being swept into Heaven is that they are in Heaven and slogging it out with us down here. Perhaps they would have been swept completely away. It is better that we exercise our authority in faith powered by love led of the Holy Spirit until our assignment is finished. Knowing that we have accomplished all that the Lord assigned to us and we are satisfied. Then we yield up our spirit and the Lord receives us with an abundant entry into Heaven and we hear those coveted words of Jesus and the Father “well done good and faithful servant”.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
