SEED OF THE ADULTERER
Video link: https://youtu.be/Word7Kh8k_w
Greetings dear and precious saints, the redeemed of the Lord and welcome back to our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this and every teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of Donna and me some time back at a restaurant in Kerrville, Texas. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today and read it out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 57:1-4 (KJV)
1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
As we proceed into verses three and four, we don’t find the Lord sugar coating it at all through His Prophet. Some might say that He is calling a spade a spade. He is talking to the heathen, the very ones who have been vexing His righteous ones. This is much like Lot was vexed in Sodom and Gonorrhea.
2 Peter 2:5-8 (KJV)
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
We may not view Lot as particularly righteous when we examine his history with Abram/Abraham. In addition, he chose to remain in that filthy environment. Then when the angels came, he offered his virgin daughters to the men at the door in place of homosexual sex with the angels whom they thought were men. And it that were not enough, after they escape from Sodom, he allows his daughters to get him drunk and then have sex with him. The first recorded sin of incest. Now, let’s move to verses five and six of our primary text.
Isaiah 57:3-6 (KJV)
3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
5 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
We see here that killing the unborn, the just born is not a new thing, they were slaying the children in the valleys no doubt to Molech. What about “the smooth stones of the stream”?
1 Samuel 17:40 (KJV)
40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
These in verse six had offered token offerings to God but it was a matter of coming close with their lips but having a heart that was far from Him. The Lord through His Prophet is saying, just as Goliath fell and the whole philistine army, it will be so with you.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
