HE WILL SATISFY YOUR DESIRES

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of this amazing Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give this ancient people and us a light for our path. The featured picture is of an old Church in the State of Colorado. This is to remind us to pray for our local Church, the Church in our State, and the Church (body of Christ) in our nation. Much of the body of Christ is outside your denomination or lack of denomination. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 58:10-12 (NASB)
10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.
11 “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
12 “Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.
I want us to notice the operation of the Law of Sowing and Reaping in this passage. Notice in the 10th verse that when we satisfy the desires of the afflicted then in verse 11 the Lord satisfies our desires. The Lord says that we will be an oasis in the middle of drought. We will be a spring of water (Word) to all that come to us or that we go to. In our obedience the Lord will not allow us to fail in our missions of putting the Kingdom of God first, doing it His way, loving Him and loving people. God is in the people business.
This brings us to some Scripture that may get short shift in some quarters. Are we to rebuild the ancient ruins, raise up the age-old foundations, repair, and restore the streets with a prayer, a pat on the back, and best wishes? No, it is going to take a truck load of money. The body of Christ must stop embracing poverty and embrace prosperity, prosperity that is way more then anyone needs or even wants. It is in that excess that all the will of God will be done. God has wanted His people to be outrageously prosperous right from the Garden. Read the Bible. This is much like what we see in Isaiah 61.
Isaiah 61:4 (NASB)
4 Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, They will raise up the former devastations; And they will repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
This comes right after talking about the Anointing.
Isaiah 61:1 (NASB)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners;
In Isaiah 61:4 who are the “Then they” who are doing this rebuilding. Come on folks, it is those who found out they are not ordained to poverty, those who are no longer hindered and hobbled by a broken heart, and those who are now free of the chains which once held them far below their place in Christ Jesus, in the Kingdom of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
