THE LORD WILL GUIDE YOU
Video link: https://youtu.be/p3Ip1HJ9YLA
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of this amazing Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give this ancient people and us a light for our path. The featured picture is of an old Church in the State of California. This is to remind us to pray for our local Church, the Church in our State, and the Church (body of Christ) in our nation. Much of the body of Christ is outside your denomination or lack of denomination. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 58:10-12 (NASB)
10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.
11 “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
12 “Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.
As we look at verse ten, why does our light rise in darkness. It rises because we have been about Kingdom business loving God and loving others. When we look at the word “darkness” in verse ten we see it might have been better translated as obscurity. Once no one knew who we were now we are well known. Isn’t this part of our Covenant? Remember Abram/Abraham?
Genesis 12:1-3 (NASB)
1 Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;
2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;
3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
God told Abram that in His obedience He would make him rich and famous, and He did. He says the same thing to us.
Galatians 3:13-14 (NASB)
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”—
14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Dear ones we not only have the natural blessings of Abraham but the supernatural, the promise of the Spirit through faith. Wow, almost full circle back to Adam. Look at what the Apostle Peter by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit had to say.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Take just a little time to meditate on verse three and chip away at the poverty mentality that is preached for us from the pulpit and from the world. It is of the devil. Notice what is needed? Knowledge not emotion and not a feeling, Godly knowledge believed and acted upon commonly with the words of our mouth. Dear ones the Lord wants those around us in the Church and in the world to see His goodness manifest in our lives, both the spiritual and the natural. In coming days as we move forward in our text, we find there will be a great need for great wealth in the body of Christ.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
