EVERLASTING LIGHT
Video link: https://youtu.be/6WH2es7soKA
Greetings dear and precious saints and those who will soon be saints and welcome back to this exciting study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Lord we serve with willing hearts. When I look back at my days of rebellion, I think how foolish, but when the evil one has you in his grip you think sin and darkness are fun and desirable. Thank you, Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, for your mercy, compassion, and patience with me. The featured picture today is of a very old Church just outside of Somerset Texas. The purpose of these Church pictures is to remind us to intercede for each other and the Church at large.
Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV)
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the instructive, Prophetic, and Messianic Bible Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 60:19-22 (NKJV)
19 “The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory.
20 Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the LORD will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
21 Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.
22 A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.”
Wow, how the year is flying by! Are we using our time on this earth wisely? In just a few days we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. We are a blessed people and all thanksgiving first and foremost belongs to God. As we have progressed down through this 60th chapter of Isaiah we have recognized that we were being instructed as to how it was possible to live, how He expects us to be living, which is in copious abundance occupying all that Jesus won back. We also recognized the prophecy of the Millennial Reign as well as the coming of the New Heaven and the New Earth. Let’s pick up again with the new heaven and the new earth. I am presents excerpts of the 21st chapter of Revelation but the whole chapter is well worth reading and meditating.
Revelation 21:1-4 (NKJV)
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
We are going to be there and witness this one-day dear ones. O what a day that will be. Let me ask a question just for fun. When the old earth and heavens consumed with fervent heat where will we be? As we watch the new heaven and the new earth take their place where will we be? Are we instantly from the old earth, to Heaven, and then back to the new earth? This is not terribly important but fun, at least for me, to think about. Now, the Everlasting Light. You have noticed that I capitalized Everlasting and Light, for this light is a person, the person of Father God.
Revelation 21:22-27 (NKJV)
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there).
26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.
27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
