THE LORD HAS CALLED YOU

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to our illuminating Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to move forward, please take a moment and share this as widely as possible by every means available to you. It is so encouraging to see that what you value, you share. The beautiful blue jay and winter scene is provided for those of you in Maine who may be missing winter (smile).
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud.
Isaiah 54:5-8 (KJV)
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
You remember how this chapter began? Sing! And now He is telling them that they have much to sing about just as we the Church have much to sing about. I am you Maker He exclaims and as such I know exactly how to care for you. I am your Redeemer; you need nor have no other. I am the God of the whole earth! That is who is caring for you. You were as an older woman forsaken or a younger woman likewise forsaken yet I have chosen you again. God calls this a small moment. For Him yes, for man, no. Yes, for your sin I forsook you but now in great mercy I gather you again. Let me point out that none of this, this chapter, is automatic, like He just does it, there must be repentance and we the woman, the wife must choose. As we look at the last verse of our text above, we might ask ourselves, to what period of time is God referring? This Book of Isaiah is being written some 700 years BC. They are yet to be overrun by the Greeks, then the Romans, and finally scattered over the earth in 70 AD. Only becoming a nation again on May 14th 1948, yet still rejecting Jesus the Messiah. It seems that this is referring to the end of the Great Tribulation and forever after. Let’s move forward just a bit.
Isaiah 54:9-10 (KJV)
9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
The day is coming when Israel’s sin will be removed and they will walk fully in Covenant with God again.
Romans 11:26-27 (KJV)
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
From the Second Coming of Christ and forever after Israel will be a nation before the Lord albeit saved in the same fashion as the Church, the Blood of Jesus and words of their testimony. Just like the Church.
Jeremiah 31:35-37 (KJV)
35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord loves you; He has a wonderful life for you if you so choose, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
