SHAME OF THY YOUTH
Video Link: https://youtu.be/8jk9vy4u-Tg
Greeting dear and precious saints as well as those who are not yet saints. If you don’t know Jesus, make Him Lord and Savior today, right this very moment.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (Bold added)
Welcome to all who are continuing with this Bible Study or who are joining perhaps for the first time. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. It encourages us greatly to see that you value these teachings enough to share them. The featured picture once again is to remind us to pray for all the spheres of society. Our prayer is not the whole answer, it is only part of the answer. Remember, there is a reason any person, any people, find themselves in bondage.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why. If you don’t know why, ask.
Isaiah 54:3-5 (KJV)
3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Today I will again pick up with verse four and the phrase “for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more”. I suspect more than one person reading this would like to erase some parts of their youth and perhaps other unrighteous moments. Look the devils are masters at deception. If we allow them just a little leeway, before long the door is flung wide, and we have an argument to explain that our behavior is just fine. Here’s good news! Jesus has erased our former sin when we received Him as Lord and Savior. Now, people may not be so kind, including Christians.
In these ancient times there was a garment that widows wore and our text is telling us to fling that aside. We have a Husband. We have a provider, a redeemer, and protector. For us today that is Jesus. As one looks closely at the fifth verse of our text, we see the term “LORD of hosts” which is an Old Testament name for the second person of the Triune God. The fifth verse of our text and the phrase “For thy Maker is thine husband” is as clear as it gets that Jesus was the primary maker of man in Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 2:7. I can say that for this verse calls Him our husband. We dear ones are the bride of Christ. Let me point out that the following passages speak of the Jewish custom concerning marriage. The prospective groom (Jesus) would make a proposal to the prospective bride (you and me) and then he would go back to his father’s house and prepare a place for the bride. He could only come and collect the bride when the father said it was time. All of this should be really familiar. Many start only a few finish.
Matthew 25:1-6 (KJV)
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
We cannot fatigue in our looking for Him.
John 14:1-3 (KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
The Father will tell the Son when He can collect His bride, O what a day!
Matthew 24:36-37 (KJV)
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good, He is for you, in Him you are invincible unless you chose otherwise, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
