A WITNESS TO THE PEOPLE
Video link: https://youtu.be/th3ttU2Rgdg
Greetings dear and precious children of God and thank you for rejoining this illuminating Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear ones. He has given us His Book to guide our steps for health and prosperity in every arena of life so that we can have maximal effectiveness in our Kingdom of God work. Dear ones it is so important that we run our race until all given for us to do of the Father in the Kingdom of God is done.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for valuing these teachings enough to share them.
The featured picture today is a reminder for us to pray and decree with thanksgiving the will of God concerning every sector of society, especially the Church.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 55:4-7 (KJV)
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
As we have discussed and you know, this chapter and the last few are strongly Messianic. The one we call our Heavenly Father is speaking through His Prophet Isaiah mainly about the coming Messiah, the One called Jesus. He is speaking to all of us but at that time to the nation of Israel. This coming Messiah will be a true witness for the people, first the Jew then the Gentile, as well as be their commander. As a leader and commander, He will be the one of highest authority and as commander the one conveying to the people the way to go. Although He is all of these things each one exercises freewill as to if they will do as commanded. Each of us decide if He is the commander or if we choose another as our commander at any given moment.
Power follows and is put in motion by the exercise of legal authority. When we are thinking, speaking (decreeing), and doing His will the Power of God sees to the execution of our decrees. He does not back up our thoughts, words, and ways apart from His will. In our own ways prompted by thoughts and words that are not His is a very dangerous place to be and takes us off His path for us, and out of His protective canopy.
As we proceed into verse five it seems the Father is speaking primarily to Israel but we see elements that may apply to the Church. The Lord has certainly glorified (shown His goodness) Israel even in their fallen state and without question glorified the Church. Beyond that the United States has been glorified far beyond any nation in history because of our Covenant relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy One of Israel is the Lord of Hosts, Jesus, the Messiah. The ESV of this 5th verse offers some clarity.
Isaiah 55:5 (ESV)
5 Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.
What nation or Capital of a nation do we see in the news more than Israel and Jerusalem? Peoples from many nations flood Israel every year. For its size Israel has become a major economic power, military power, and breadbasket. Three major religions claim Jerusalem as a Holy Site and Abraham as their father. These three are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Consider the following verses.
Zechariah 8:22-23 (ESV)
22 Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD.
23 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. The Lord is good and greatly to be praised.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
