SEEK YE THE LORD
Video link: https://youtu.be/U3VFTgK1D98
Greetings dear and precious children of God and thank you for rejoining this illuminating Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear ones. He has given us His Book to guide our steps for health and prosperity in every arena of life so that we can have maximal effectiveness in our Kingdom of God work. Dear ones it is so important that we run our race until all given for us to do of the Father in the Kingdom of God is done.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for valuing these teachings enough to share them.
The featured picture today is provided by Joe Getchell Jr a faithful man of God. Thank you, Joe, for the beautiful picture.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 55:4-7 (KJV)
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
As we continue in our primary Bible text, we find the admonition to seek the Lord while He may be found in verse six. The implication is that there will be a time when He cannot be found. One might ask, when can’t Jesus be found, when is it useless to call out to Him? Once we have died physically and departed this body into Hell there is no remedy.
When we move into verse seven the Lord seems to be talking to the backslider, one who once knew the Lord then turn away. Israel is a backslider. Many have come to the Lord, were born again, then turned away at a later date. It is not for us to judge at what point the person went from saved to unsaved. It is a matter of the heart. This is a controversial topic and I will not address it here. I recently wrote on this topic in our study of the Bible Book of Jude. To find this go to the website and you will find it under categories.
I suspect we have all seen verse seven, this perhaps even did it ourselves for a season. The Scripture declares this person as wicked and unrighteous. The phrase “let him return unto the LORD” says to me that he/she has left the Lord and is therefore with another. There is only one other and that is Satan. It seems that this person once knew the Lord and walked with the Lord, thought the Lord’s thoughts, and walked as the Lord walks. The Lord says to this person, if you will return, I will have mercy upon you and I will abundantly pardon. This brings us to a very difficult, sobering, passage in the Bible Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 6:4-8 (KJV)
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord good, really good, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
