KEEP MY SABBATHS
Video link: https://youtu.be/38pt2mCEIKs
Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this study of the wonderfully Prophetic and instructive Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. The Lord will bless you for sharing. The featured picture today is of my tenth birthday in 1957, today is my birthday. I am in the front row, second from the right. Perhaps like some of you, I say, “where has the time gone” and to the Lord, “forgive me for my foolish times and the time I should have been a better son in the Kingdom”.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 56:1-5 (KJV)
1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
I ended last week talking about how God, our Heavenly Father, is no respecter of persons. He will receive any and all who choose Him, He always has and always will. Many have a socialist view of the Kingdom, of God. God is not a socialist. In the Kingdom there is equality of opportunity but not in outcome. The starting place is given of the Father, the outcome of our lives is in our hands. Today I will pick up with verses 3, 4, and 5 concerning the foreigner and the eunuch. I believe this is a far more serious issue then many of us realize or believe. First, let’s look at these verses in the NIV translation.
Isaiah 56:3-5 (NIV)
3 Let no foreigner who has bound himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely exclude me from his people.” And let not any eunuch complain, “I am only a dry tree.”
4 For this is what the LORD says: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant–
5 to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.
We see that God gives an exalted place in His House to the foreigner and eunuch who will keep His Sabbaths, that choose what pleases Him, and hold fast to the Blood Covenant. I have to ask myself, how am I doing with this, what about you as you examine yourself? Verse five of our text is a little confusing for it appears that they are exalted above the others in the Kingdom but as I study this, I find that is not the case. Look at it in the NLT translation.
Isaiah 56:5 (NLT)
5 I will give them—within the walls of my house—a memorial and a name far greater than sons and daughters could give. For the name I give them is an everlasting one. It will never disappear!
So, we see that our Heavenly Father gives them, all of us, a name far greater than any son or daughter could have given. All who overcome receive a “new name”.
Revelation 2:17 (KJV)
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Am I, are you an overcomer?
Revelation 3:20-22 (KJV)
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
This word “overcometh” means to subdue, conquer, overcome, prevail, get the victory according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Remember that word “subdue” from the Eden Mandate?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord is good, nothing but good, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
