Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book of the Bible. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The Lord is good.
Today is also the Federal Holiday Labor Day. One might ask, exactly what are we celebrating that warrants a Federal Holiday. Labor Day is a celebration of the American worker, but at its core it is a celebration of Labor Unions. According to Wikipedia, Labor Day was celebrated as early as 1882, and it was established as an official Federal Holiday in September 1887 by President Grover Cleveland.
I have no issue with celebrating the American worker as long as we openly recognize that God is the source of the success of the American worker, for that matter the American nation. This nation was established in Covenant with God starting with documents as early as the Mayflower Compact and the Constitutions of all fifty states minus Oregon. Celebrating the American worker while not celebrating the preeminence of God in all things is sin. Likewise, the celebration of Labor Unions absent God is devilish. Our (America’s) Covenant with God is the source of our exceptionalism, not some random spark of serendipity. Unions are sold as a protection for workers but in reality, they are organized rebellion, designed to control people, and destroy capital. Unions enslave people causing them to look to the Union as their source thereby becoming their god. This violates the first Commandment.
Exodus 20:3 (KJV)
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Kick back and enjoy the day as unto the Lord recognizing that the blessing of God is upon America and the American worker. We celebrate the Creator not the created.
Romans 1:25 (KJV)
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
At this time let’s shift our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. As you will recall this whole Bible Book is about God telling His people of their sins, the consequences, and the way back. Cajoling at great lengths. All of this is a lesson for us if we will take it to heart. God’s children time after time don’t seem to recognize the need to repent. Our demonic enemies and our flesh are powerful at producing darkness, deception in our lives. They and we are very fleshy, emotion driven peoples if we do not discipline ourselves to the Word of God. Love of God is not emotion, it is obedience driven by knowledge. Does any of this have application for us, for today in America, in the world around us? Of course, it does, but so far as I can tell the Church for the most part is happy to point at the heathen unaware, they are responsible for the status quo. Let’s read our Bible text from the Book of Isaiah before I end for today.
Isaiah 45:1-4 (KJV)
1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
Again, we see the name Cyrus arise, a future King of Persia some 200 years in the future. God always has a “Cyrus” to free His people from bondage when they recognize their bondage and turn to Him. Unfortunately, the human vessel through which God works is not always one of His own. This is the case with King Cyrus of Persia who allowed Zerubbabel to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Later King Artaxerxes (same who made Esther his Queen) allowed Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and govern Judah. Why does God so often have to use heathens to bring good things to His people even in our generation? It is always spiritual blindness, hardness of heart, and no faith.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
