AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

WHOSE LAND THE RIVERS DIVIDE
Greetings dear and precious people who follow The Three Minute Word and who partner (financially) with Eastern Gate Ministries International Inc. Our partners are so essential in getting the Truth out to all who will receive, prove, believe, and do. The funds are also essential, as the Lord leads, to reach into peoples lives and make a tangible difference. Money is not to be worshipped or be our primary focus, money is a tool to change the lives of people and to be a witness of the goodness of our God. Our God is not pleased by the poverty of His people, looks bad for Him. And, get it out of your head that you are spiritually rich and physically poor in every way, does not exist. Let us focus on the Lord God first and then other people after that!
Please take a moment to share this teaching by every avenue available to you to expand our reach with the Truth. As I proceed I want to remind each of us to pray for the Church, to pray for our brethren, and especially the leadership of the Church. May we again learn and practice loyalty and submission to proper leadership in every sphere of life, spiritual and natural when conformed to the Laws of God. Now, let’s delve into our Scripture today from the wonderful Book of Isaiah, continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 18:1-7 (ESV)
1 Ah, land of whirring wings that is beyond the rivers of Cush,
2 which sends ambassadors by the sea, in vessels of papyrus on the waters! Go, you swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide.
3 All you inhabitants of the world, you who dwell on the earth, when a signal is raised on the mountains, look! When a trumpet is blown, hear!
4 For thus the LORD said to me: “I will quietly look from my dwelling like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”
5 For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he cuts off the shoots with pruning hooks, and the spreading branches he lops off and clears away.
6 They shall all of them be left to the birds of prey of the mountains and to the beasts of the earth. And the birds of prey will summer on them, and all the beasts of the earth will winter on them.
7 At that time tribute will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide, to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the LORD of hosts.
I will just tell you outright, I really don’t know what country is being talked about in this chapter of Isaiah. I looked at Dake’s Study Notes and he is insistent that it is not referring to the United States and furthermore says no Scripture names the United States. He believes that refers to Ethiopia. The problem with that is that verse one in KJV is translated as “beyond the rivers of Ethiopia.”

1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
I am not saying this whole chapter is referring to America but it is interesting that our country is divided right in the middle by the Mississippi River and many other rivers traverse the land. Let’s look at verse seven in the English Standard Version of the Bible.
Isaiah 18:7 (ESV)
7 At that time tribute will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide, to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the LORD of hosts.
This chapter talks of a mighty nation which is feared and a nation who comes to Zion (Jerusalem, Church Triumphant). Who is the most ardent supporter of Zion, the Jewish people in the earth? Looking at the United States and Israel, consider the following verse concerning the flight of believing Jews into what is thought to be Petra in Jordan during the Great Tribulation.

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Lord willing, I will pick up with chapter twenty of Isaiah tomorrow and be sure to remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
