EVEN OUR THOUGHTS BEAR FRUIT

Greetings to one and all and welcome to this teaching on “WHOSE THOUGHTS”. Let me ask a question. Are our thoughts our secrets forever? And whose thoughts are we thinking? The thoughts of our own understanding, the voice of other people’s reasonings plus or minus Godly or demonic influence, demonic voices, or the voice of God. Someone is talking to us constantly. We call this our thought life. Are thoughts harmless? By the way our thoughts are not a secret from God and our thoughts produce fruit. Our thoughts may be a secret for a season from other people and the demons, that is until our words betray our thoughts and the fruit manifests.
We are thinking about something all the time, even in our sleep. We are receiving input to our thought life all day through music, radio, TV, conversations, books of all types (audio, kindle, paper, etc.). Our thoughts can be Godly, neutral, or devilish. Godly thoughts are those in line with Scripture. Neutral thoughts are things like thinking about our grocery list, a task at work and so on. Devilish thoughts are any and all thoughts contrary to Scripture. As we start this study let’s listen to the Lord Jesus.
Luke 8:17-18 (KJV)
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. (bold added)
What would not be included in “nothing”? In reality there is no such thing as a secret, all will be made manifest one day, either here, or at the judgement. There is one caveat. Those evil things that we, the born again, confess before God will be cleansed and forgiven. All sin including unrighteous (evil) thoughts, before salvation was cleansed and blotted out by the Blood of Jesus at salvation. Next, we find Jesus admonishing us to be mindful of how we are hearing something. Don’t just receive everything you hear, screen it through Scripture and discard immediately the evil. Jesus goes on to say that if we are gathering trash, we will be given more trash (not by Him) and the holy will be crowed out, taken from him/her. In other words, whatever we readily accept we will be given more, and the opposite is crowded out. Perhaps the Amplified Bible can bring a little clarity.
Luke 8:17-18 (AMP)
17 For there is nothing hidden that shall not be disclosed, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come out into the open.
18 Be careful therefore how you listen. For to him who has [spiritual knowledge] will more be given; and from him who does not have [spiritual knowledge], even what he thinks and guesses and supposes that he has will be taken away. (bold added)
There are no one sided coins, the Amplified is emphasizing “spiritual knowledge” however the other side of the coin is devilish knowledge. So, verse eighteen (number of bondage) would read something like this – to him who has devilish knowledge more will be given, and he who supposes he has devilish knowledge it will be taken away from him. How? By Godly knowledge displacing the devilish and not giving any attention to the devilish knowledge. Thoughtfully read the following passage of Scripture and this is where we will pick up tomorrow in this important study.
Mark 4:21-29 (KJV)
21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. (bold added)
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
TAKE HOME:
- Thoughts are not our little secret.
- Thoughts bear fruit.
- Whatever kind of thoughts we embrace will result in more being given and the counterpoint will be pushed out. If devilish thoughts are embraced, they will increase pushing out the Godly and vice versa.
