WHY DID GOD DO IT OR DID HE

Greetings dear and precious brothers and sisters in Christ and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Wow, what a book! Please pause for a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing, you are vital to the dissemination of the Word of Truth over all the earth. You are an integral part to the fulfillment of the following Scripture.
Habakkuk 2:14 (KJV)
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
The featured picture today is of Donna and me, we are one in the mission of enlarging the Kingdom of God and doing it His way. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 27:7-10 (TLB)
7 Has God punished Israel as much as he has punished her enemies? No, for he has devastated her enemies,
8 while he has punished Israel but a little, exiling her far from her own land as though blown away in a storm from the east.
9 And why did God do it? It was to purge away her sins, to rid her of all her idol altars and her idols. They will never be worshiped again.
10 Her walled cities will be silent and empty, houses abandoned, streets grown up with grass, cows grazing through the city munching on twigs and branches.
Is our God, a God of justice? Yes, of course, He is.
Psalm 89:14 (AMP)
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and loving-kindness and truth go before Your face.
Whatever is not of righteousness is of unrighteousness which is sin. There are always, not sometimes, always, consequences for sin just as there are consequences for righteousness. Everyone either in this life or the next will answer for everything done in the flesh and justice will be meted (handed down) out. Sin opens the door to the curse. The only thing that can avert the curse, consequences of sin, is true repentance before God. The reason I say ‘true’ repentance is there are many we are sorry they got caught and are suffering consequences but they have not had a heart change concerning the sin. The story of Esau is an example of this whereas the story of King David is the opposite.
Israel has sinned, they have repeatedly been warned, the sin and the consequences pointed out, yet they continued in an unrepentant way and justice was meted out. It would be unjust for God to treat one, one way, and another, another way. Not going to happen with God. One of the most wonderful gifts given to all peoples of God is repentance. Also, we have been given everything we need to be obedient to the commands, the ways of God. The presence of the curse in our lives, not the threat of the curse, is a sign of the failure to fight the good fight of faith, which in and of itself is sin (whatever is not of faith is sin [Romans 14:23]). The presence of the curse is evidence of sin. For example, false doctrine is not the Truth and opens the door to the curse. We cannot over study the Word. The enemy is going to threaten us with the curse day and night but we combat that by the exercise of the whole armor of God with a 100% success rate. Once we find the curse in us, we must find the access point and close it.
In sin or not we are God’s anointed and it is foolish to bring harm to God’s Anointed. What has happened is that to accomplish justice an enemy gained access to Israel but in their pride and greed went beyond the bounds of justice. This draws the ire of God and the kick back is terrible. So, the answer is that the punishment of the enemies of Israel is worse than what God allowed on Israel. Think about it, Israel stands even in rebellion a thriving nation but those empires of the past are gone and a mere shadow of who they were.
Since the earliest days of Israel (starting with Jacob/Israel) they have periodically been taken into bondage due to sin and finally in 70 A.D. scattered to the four corners of the earth. From the time Jesus entered His earthly ministry until the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple was forty years. Forty is the number of testing. Israel was given an opportunity to receive the Messiah but they did not as a people. She has recently (May 14, 1948) been reconstituted in preparation for the last day.
Lord willing, I will pick up with this next week on Labor Day and my son-in-law’s birthday (a precious man of God).
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
