AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Thursday – June 17, 2021, Tamuz 7, 5781
OVERTHROWN BY STRANGERS
Greetings to all the children of God the Father, brethren of the First Born for the dead (Christ), and empowered by the Holy Spirit. God is so good dear ones and He is nothing but good. Well, the packing is finished and we are in San Antonio Texas. We have been and are excited and eager for the move and now it has come. The things to do and coordinate at times seems daunting and of course much remains. We know within ourselves this is right; First and foremost, it is the will of God. People ask what we will be doing there. Of course, we will be doing life much like people everywhere. We will be getting established in a local Church. This Ministry will continue as is (I think) for the time being. The Lord has brought to mind several times in this process His call for Abram to move. He (God) told Abram to leave where he was, and go to Canaan. He was to leave what was familiar and established, his family and go alone with his wife (help-meet). Let’s look at this for a moment. Perhaps all of us will receive some light. Listen carefully to the following, hopefully familiar, Scripture.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
We generally talk about this passage with regard to the Blessing, praying for and blessing (materially) Israel, and the coming Messiah. However, I want to draw your attention to the phrase “into a land that I will shew thee” in verse one. It wasn’t that Abram didn’t know anything about Canaan but he just didn’t know the details of going there. However, God did tell Abram that he would become widely known there, and be a blessing. Likewise, we don’t know the details of why we are moving to San Antonio Texas (moving back for me, first time for Donna) but we know it is right and there He will bless us and we will be a blessing. Abram and Sarai, renamed by God Abraham (father of a multitude) and Sarah (mother of nations, kings of people), didn’t know that God was to bring the Messiah into the earth through them. Through their faith and obedience, the Seed, would come, Jesus the Messiah.
We don’t know what God may want to birth in us and through us but we stand in obedience and faith to do our part. We tend to want to see the whole picture rather than take the one step God has set before us. Why? Perhaps we want to judge if He is right or even decide if we want to be obedient. How presumptuous! How do we like it when our children don’t trust us? Not knowing but still obeying is faith in action, it is trusting our loving Father. Remember God paid a price beyond measure for each and every one of us and now we would question His judgment, even His motives. What wickedness! Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah.
Isaiah 1:5-7 (KJV)
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
Unfortunately, the Lord speaking through Isaiah is not talking only about a people of God who lived over 2700 years ago, He is talking to us. As we look around, we are blind to our actual condition, the condition of our individual churches and the Church at large. The Word of God is our mirror, let us look and not forget.
James 1:23-24 (KJV)
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Who is running everything in your town and state, the righteous or the unrighteous? Why? If the unrighteous then everything God said through Isaiah is true where you live and where I live. We tend to get used to it, we accommodate sin, throw our hands in the air declaring it is awful and act like we can do nothing. Is it true that we can do nothing but hang on for dear life until we go Home to Heaven or Jesus comes? Of course not! We have dominion (authority) over all the earth! The earth is ours! And, we have the Power (Blessing of God) to reconcile all who will to the Father through declaring Jesus as Lord. All material things are ours (1 Corinthians 3:21-22) and must be reclaimed for the Kingdom of God. Strangers, the heathen, have devoured the earth and overthrown the righteous for far to long. Awake, arise, and triumph dear ones in Christ!

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
