AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR SACRIFICES?
Greetings to the holy and sanctified children, and the sons of God who follow this blog. Welcome back to this exploration of and uncovering (revelation) from the Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful Book, what a wonderful and powerful study of God’s Word, as pertinent for us today as it was for Gods’ people in the days of Isaiah. A few weeks ago, I was listening to a sermon and the pastor was giving some statistics. I do not recall the exact topic but it had to do with an increase of unrighteousness and a decrease of righteousness. The Lord immediately prompted me that there is no such thing as a vacuum. In order for darkness to increase, light must decrease. It was once thought that darkness was the absence of light but we now know that is not the case. Scientists just were not able to see or measure darkness. Of course, Christians should have already known this from the following verse.
Genesis 1:4 (KJV)
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
One cannot divide something from nothing. Likewise, people talk about the presence of a vacuum which is defined as a space with nothing in it. I might add nothing we have been able to measure to this point. Just like there was a time we couldn’t see bacteria or viruses and so on. There was a time when we could not ascertain the components of an atom now all of that is taken for granted. Perhaps you are wondering where I am going, I hope not, this is not science 101, but spiritual revelation 101. In order for spiritual darkness to advance, spiritual light must have retreated. The space created by the retreat of light is filled immediately with darkness. There is no such thing as a true vacuum.
I am told that when young adults raised in Christian homes, who are born again, go to University or College only 4% leave with a Christian world view. This is a terrible witness to the training in the home and in the Church house. We have allowed darkness to swallow up our schools at every level. The retreat of light gives place to darkness. That space left from the retreat of light is not left empty but immediately filled with darkness. This abdication of far superior authority and Power by the Church leads to the situation of our text and stern Words from Heaven. Now let’s read our primary Bible text aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing not by seeing.
Isaiah 1:10-13 (KJV)
10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
As we look at Isaiah 1:11, can you hear the frustration even exasperation being expressed by God? You can almost see Him throw His hands in the air asking why they are sacrificing but then doing none of My commands. Listen to the following passage see the similarity with our Isaiah text. God is speaking through the Prophet Samuel to a disobedient King Saul.
1 Samuel 15:22-23 (KJV)
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (Bold added)
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
We see that God highly values the obedience of His people. Obedience is a reliable sign of honor, faith, and love (agape).

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
