THE WORD ISAIAH SAW

Greetings dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to our powerful study of the wonderfully prophetic and Messianic Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach. These teachings contain the very best news anyone will ever hear. The featured picture today is once again from our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. He has a wonderful eye for what makes a beautiful and interesting picture.
Today I will be moving into the second chapter of Isaiah and we will see the Lord is taking him way ahead in time, even a little beyond our present time. The time period in question is that immediately following Armageddon during what is called the 1000-year reign of Christ or the Millennial Reign.
Isaiah 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
As in chapter one God through the Prophet Isaiah is talking to Jerusalem and Judah. What about Israel? For that people at that time, He is talking to Jerusalem (which is technically in the land occupied by the tribe Benjamin) and Judah. For us I believe Jerusalem represents the Jews who have turned to Christ which is all of the surviving remnant from the final holocaust of the Jews which we call the Tribulation Period. The reference to Judah, which is the tribe through which Jesus came, is referring to the Church. Verse two of our text talks about the Lords’ House being established on the top of the mountains and “all nations shall flow into it”. The city of Jerusalem sits on seven hills or mountains. Our text tells us that in that day, the last days, all nations will flow into Jerusalem. Why? To worship Jesus! The word used for “nation” in Isaiah 2:2 is the gôy according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. The gôy are non-Jewish peoples literally translated as dogs. These were not killed during the Tribulation and who did not turn to Christ during that time. Apparently, they are going to have a great epiphany when all is said and done and Jesus is ruling the world from Jerusalem. The Devil and his hoards are taken out of the way for 1000 years. Let’s see what Zechariah has to say about this time.
Zechariah 14:16-18 (KJV)
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Notice that a lack of worship leads to drought and famine. The same is true today in the modern Church. There is what is called “praise and worship”, we used to call it the song service. This may indeed be a time when we are declaring who God is (praise) and a time of submission (worship) to Him, however, it is but a very short period of time in our week. Praise and worship are a 24/7 endeavor. When we are not seeing the manifestation of God in our individual lives and in the corporate life of our local gatherings, we must conclude that we are failing to worship. This failure results in drought and famine. Before I end for today let me point out an interesting point. Notice the word “Jerusalem” in verse sixteen and seventeen. The Hebrew word used here is in the pleural form. This war, these nations that came against natural or earthly Jerusalem were also coming against Heavenly Jerusalem. As some say “Jerusalem above and Jerusalem below”. How foolish to go to war against God but I guess the devil remains delusional. However, before I end for today, let me point out that rebellion against the Word of God whether it be in ignorance, willing ignorance, or knowingly is war against God. When we place ourselves above God we are in terrible jeopardy. When we accept the devils’ deceptions, we are doing what Lucifer did just before His fall exalting ourselves above the Throne of God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
