THE GREAT ARE HUMBLED

Greeting precious saints and welcome back to this powerful and empowering exploration of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach of the good news. The very best news you or anyone else has ever received, the Word of God, the only body of Truth available. The featured picture today was taken recently at the Japanese Tea Gardens here in San Antonio when we had a wonderful day with our grandson Nathaniel, his wife Heather, and four beautiful great grandchildren.
God is so good, beyond good, to give us His Word so that we are not in the dark or guessing at what the will of God might be for us, His Church, the Kingdom of God. Yes, our Heavenly Father wants us rich and healthy, yes, all the time. Let me ask a quick question. Who can accomplish the most for the Kingdom the rich and healthy or the poor and sick? Riches and health that comes by way of Kingdom living will add no sorrow and will be preceded by richness and health in our soul (mind, thought life).
Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
This of course involves spiritual blessing for it precedes the physical manifestation but this verse is talking primarily about physical riches. We are a witness to the world and have a job in this present time and that takes physical assets as well as the exercise of spiritual authority, in faith, in love, free of doubt, and led of the Holy Spirit.
3 John 1:2 (YLT)
2 beloved, concerning all things I desire thee to prosper, and to be in health, even as thy soul doth prosper,
Just these two references (and the Bible is full of the will of God for His people to be wealthy and healthy) kind of blows away that false poverty teaching, mindset don’t you think? What do you think about the following passage?
2 Peter 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (Bold added)
If God, our Father, did not want us to overflow in all physical as well as spiritual assets why is it all through the Bible? He has given us all things, but we must have knowledge, knowledge of the Truth. This includes all things necessary for an overwhelmingly abundant and victorious life both spiritually and physically, now. Why is the Church for the most part in the dark about the will of God in these areas? Our ignorance is not a reflection on God but upon us and those appointed to leadership by the Holy Spirit. That is not to say there are not mysteries we may not uncover in this lifetime. They also will come as our foundations of understanding expand now and in that to come. There is an idea that suddenly upon going to Heaven we will know all things. That is a false idea. We will go on learning, most likely for eternity. However, God will for us to have abundant wealth and health is not a mystery. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
9 And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
As you can see, we are moving ahead in our Isaiah text and I sure hope we all appreciate that we are not just studying ancient history but an image of our time. America, even the Church, is full of idols. We saw that during the pandemic when people didn’t have any idea how to worship if they were not in a certain place with the right music playing and so on. Worship is not singing songs and dancing around it is submission to God. Yes, we submit to God during the song service on Sunday but that is a very minor part of our worship, our submission, which is a 24/7 endeavor. As we look at verse nine above the meaning conveyed is hard to discern. God will forgive anyone who asks. These people are indeed humbled, their weakness without God is shown, the weakness of their idols is shown, and they do not ask forgiveness with a whole heart. In the Tribulation period although they know what is going on they will not repent.
Revelation 6:15-17 (KJV)
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
It has to do with a hardness of heart that has reached a point the person will not ask forgiveness. They have over time yielded so much control to Satan they are essentially possessed and don’t want or are now incapable of asking for deliverance. I have seen that once many years ago with a patient where death was imminent. Hard to imagine.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
