A LAND FULL OF IDOLS

Greeting precious saints and welcome back to this powerful and empowering exploration of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach of the good news. The very best news you or anyone else has ever received, the Word of God, the only body of Truth available. The featured picture today is provided by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. He has a wonderful eye, God given, for beautiful and eye-catching scenes.
God is so good, beyond good, to give us His Word so that we are not in the dark or guessing at what the will of God might be. Yes, our Heavenly Father wants us rich and healthy, yes, all the time. Riches and health that comes by way of Kingdom living will add no sorrow and will be preceded by richness and health in our soul (mind, thought life).
Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
This of course involves spiritual blessing for it precedes the physical manifestation but this verse is talking primarily about physical riches.
3 John 1:2 (YLT)
2 beloved, concerning all things I desire thee to prosper, and to be in health, even as thy soul doth prosper,
Just these two references (and the Bible is full of the will of God for His people to be wealthy and healthy) kind of blows away that false poverty teaching, mindset don’t you think? Remember this Scripture from yesterday.
1 Timothy 6:17 (KJV)
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
This includes all things necessary for an overwhelmingly abundant and victorious life both spiritually and physically now. If we are in the dark about the will of God, it is not a reflection on God but upon us. That is not to say there will not be mysteries we may not uncover in this lifetime. They also will come as our foundations of understanding expand now and in that to come. There is an idea that suddenly upon going to Heaven we will know all things. That is a false idea. We will go on learning, most likely for eternity. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 2:6-8 (KJV)
6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
As we focus in on verse eight, let’s ask ourselves; is America full of idols (obsessions), is our own life filled with idols? What are we fascinated by, fixated upon, have a passion for, or preoccupied with? As we look around at our society, we can see this in full display from things like golfing, and sports just to mention two. Idols can include people, family like children, and grandchildren. Are we putting money that God has told us to invest in the Kingdom into something we desire? Anything, any activity, any person that we put before God is an idol. When the occasion presents when we must choose between the two (God and the idol) which do we choose? Watch for the rational for not choosing God. What leads to abortion, the murdering of an innocent person that we ourselves choose to create? Abortion is never the right decision. In abortion, life, a life that Jesus calls precious, costing Him His Blood and life at Calvary, is placed second to convenience, career, and current economics. What an abomination! As I end for today let’s look at this eighth verse in the New Living Translation.
Isaiah 2:8 (NLT)
8 Their land is full of idols; the people worship things they have made with their own hands.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
