AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Thursday – September 2, 2021, Elul 25, 5781
IN THAT DAY
Greeting dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful, insightful (revelation from the Lord), and empowering Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. As I have pointed out many times, neither will this study or any other do any of us any good if we do not engage with it on a personal level. This is not just an ancient lesson about an ancient people, but a now Word for the Church at large and every one of us individually. Please take a moment and share this and every teaching as widely as possible to bring the good news (gospel) to an audience wider than we alone can reach. The beautiful picture featured today was taken 1st of August at Southside Church of God. Hopefully you recognize Donna and me in the picture, the other couple are wonderful friends and partners, Jeff and Denise Stiewig. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text from the Book of Isaiah and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 2:20-22 (KJV)
20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
As one can readily see the passage presented is a continuation of God speaking to His people through the Prophet Isaiah. His people have abandoned the ways (thoughts and Words) of God and have taken up with idols of every sort. Anything we put before God is an idol, period. As you know in the first Chapter and into the second God is describing their rebellion and then it changes to a prophetic Word of the outcome of that rebellion. Rebellion may feel good for a season but the end of it will be stealing, killing, and destroying. Anything and anyone that is before God will crumble at some point. All natural things will be gone and not long from now. As I mentioned yesterday from the Book of Revelation, Tribulation, text, the people fully recognize who is talking and doing the shaking and even though repentance is available they do not turn to God. Instead, they try to run which any fool should know is stupid gone to seed. This is what happens when we harden our hearts, we come to a point where we are incapable of repenting. We must work night and day to have a tender heart towards God, His thoughts, His Words, and His ways. Now let’s move ahead into chapter three which I will present for now in the New Living Translation. Look and see if this is not present in our land right at this very moment. Now let’s delve into chapter three in the New Living Translation.
Isaiah 3:1-4 (NLT)
1 The Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, will take away from Jerusalem and Judah everything they depend on: every bit of bread and every drop of water,
2 all their heroes and soldiers, judges and prophets, fortune-tellers and elders,
3 army officers and high officials, advisers, skilled sorcerers, and astrologers.
4 I will make boys their leaders, and toddlers their rulers.
The Lord of hosts, “the LORD of Heaven’s Armies” is none other than the One we call Christ Jesus. Jesus, the Word, is all over the Old Testament and has always been, He didn’t just show up in the womb of Mary. In the fourth verse we see that God will allow immature people in office as rulers. Now understand, God allows what we allow. The Church is the governing authority in the earth.
Matthew 18:18 (AMP)
18 Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven.
In another place Jesus said this.
Matthew 6:10 (KJV)
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Whatever we decree, declare, must be in line with the Word of God, done in faith, motivated by love (agape), without doubt in our heart, and led of the Holy Spirit. Gods’ Kingdom in the earth is to mirror Heaven.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
