SARA OBEYED
Greetings precious saints of God, followers of Christ Jesus, friends, and partners of this Ministry and followers of The Three Minute Word. Please take a moment to share this Bible teaching as widely as possible. Our God is so good and He is nothing but good, as James says there is no shadow of turning (James 1:17) in our God, the only living God.
Ephesians 5:24-29 (KJV)
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
As we will learn in weeks to come concerning this husband-and-wife relationship, Christ and the Church relationship, what applies to one, applies to the other. Husbands, we must ask ourselves are we living with our wives just as Christ lives with us (and them)? Husbands have we given ourselves wholly to our wives. Is our focus on what we are to do for her, are we being selfless towards her or are we selfish? If the Word of God is good for the cleansing of the wife, do you suppose it would do the husband any good? Yes, of course it would and will! Just as Christ is perfecting the body of Christ, His body, with the Word, that it be glorious so do we want our wives to be glorious both spiritually and physically. The Word of God is not only transformative for our spirit man conforming us to His image but is medicine, life, to all of our flesh. Our Lord and Savior loves us His body and cares for us, what about us, are we showing the same care of our wives? Are we nourishing and cherishing our wives even as they do the same for us husbands even as Christ the Church and the Church Christ? Let’s take a moment and again look at what the Holy Spirit said about all of this through the Apostle Peter.
1 Peter 3:1 (KJV)
1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
We reviewed this last week therefore I will move forward.
1 Peter 3:6-7 (KJV)
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
I wonder if you ladies squirmed at verse six. Remember, the Holy Spirit is using the Church – Christ relationship to explain the husband – wife relationship and visa versa. When we, the bride of Christ obey the Word we are placing Him, His Word, as Lord. I want to point out that the word “obey” in verse one is a different Greek word than “obeyed” in very six. Obey in verse one has to do with whether one believes or not and obeyed in verse six as to do with listening intently. Any voice that we hear which is of the Lord we obey, we not only listen intently to do but we believe it. Husbands let’s honor our wives, which means to but a very high value on them, a value only exceeded by how we value the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us cast aside selfishness concerning our wives and serve them as they serve us. We see this in the body of Christ, as Jesus serves us, He is the servant of all, we serve Him. He did the ultimate service for us from the foundation of the world, He was and is the Lamb slain. Husbands, wives have we died to self to serve our Lord and to serve our spouses, and our fellow man (Hebrews 9:16-17)? Only in this way is the Blood Covenant fully implemented giving us full access to the Promised Land. Finally, how many of you husbands (likewise wives) want your prayers, (conversations and petitions) hindered because you don’t honor her and dwell with her according to knowledge (revelation of Scripture knowledge). Of course, this applies in the other direction as well, wives must honor their husbands and dwell with them according to Scripture, revelation knowledge (light). I hope this is bringing light to all of us.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
