ARMOR OF GOD – PART FIFTY-ONE
STAND WITH TRUTH
Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. and welcome back to our study of “Gifts” currently focused on the “Armor of God”. As you know I have been building a foundation upon which our understanding and utilization of the Armor must stand. We do not want to be paper tigers but the real thing, sons of God, walking in the fullness of God which pleases our Father.
Colossians 2:8-10 (HCSB)
8 Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elemental forces of the world, and not based on Christ.
9 For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ,
10 and you have been filled by Him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
You hear me talk about the traditions of men (heard it first from Jesus, the head of the Church) and the doctrines of demons, well that is what Colossians 2:8 is talking about. Well, if we will feed on, believe, and exercise the pure Word of God there will be no hindrance to the flow of God in our lives. If we are going to do the works Jesus did and the greater works (God working through us) as commanded (John 14:12) we have got to get with the program (Bible) so to speak. Are we committed to doing the Word of God, or just going with the crowd on the wide path? Do you remember what is on the wide way?
Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
This ‘life’ referred to in verse fourteen is ‘zoe’ life or life as God knows it. Wouldn’t we image that God’s life is full of abundance of every sort? Could we get used to that? This is important for without this and all we have studied in this series we will only be talking about the armor of God and not really using it with any efficiency or effectiveness. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Ephesians 6:12-14 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
We see the command to stand twice in this brief passage. Would we then be impressed that this was very important for us to do and do it now? This word “stand” is not a passive stance or perhaps how one might stand in Church or in conversation with another. This word is probably best translated as to continue. So, whatever our assignment is in the Kingdom of God we are not to be sidetracked by these attacks from principalities, powers, rulers of darkness or spiritual wickedness in high places. So let us submit ourselves wholly to God and His purposes knowing and continuing in the Truth not the “false evidence appearing real” (fear) the enemy repeatedly brings.
James 4:7 (KJV)
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
If we continue in our assignments walking in the Truth exercising our authority over all evil spirits, resisting them (not giving them our attention) they have no choice but to flee. Before I close for this week let’s give just a little thought to verse fourteen and the reference to the Truth. Some years ago, I published a Booklet titled “Knowledge of the Truth”. I will be republishing it again. I will pick up on this again next week but for now I want to put forth four major components of the Truth. Jesus is the Truth, the Word is the Truth, the Holy Spirit is the Truth, and love is the Truth. Perhaps as I was saying these things you were ticking off Scripture confirming each one.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
