AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE GOVERNMENT
Greetings dear and precious saints of the only Living God, the only God that does nothing but good for His children, the only God that has planned an abundant now and forever. Before I move on, please share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the Truth. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was taken recently at a very nice Mexican Restaurant here in San Antonio on an outing with our friends and partners Jeff and Denise. Remember this Scripture?
Jeremiah 29:11 (TLB)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Considering what we know of God have you ever wondered about how He would define ‘good’, a ‘future’, and a ‘hope’. I suspect His definitions would make ours like very pitiful in contrast. Consider this very familiar verse again thoughtfully.
John 10:10 (AMP)
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Jesus is not talking about only this life although it is included.
Mark 10:29-30 (KJV)
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. (Bold added)
Aren’t we glad this Child was born, this Son was given? We are to have life as God has life, we are to have life as Jesus, the model Son, had life in the earth. We have no information that Jesus was ever sick or short on cash. He was flush in money and health and went about doing good (money as a tool for the Kingdom of God) and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
We are Anointed in His place to do the same!
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful book of Isaiah.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
The child, the son, the very Lamb of God has come and restored all things (some present, some to come, all certain). Our text continues to tell that the government shall be upon His shoulder. I have heard some really interesting views of this verse recently. I however continue to interpret it consistent with the following Scriptures. Jesus is the Head of the Church and we are the body, the shoulders are in the body and we are the ones according to His directives who govern in the earth. Jesus (from the Father) issues commands to the Church through His Word and the Holy Spirit. It is our job to see to it that His will is done in the earth.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
He again (Genesis 1:26) give man (those who believe on Him) all authority (word ‘power’ in verse twenty-six is authority) in the earth. We are to take that authority doing all that He has commanded. Now consider Ephesians and we are done for this week in the Book of Isaiah.
Ephesians 1:20-23 (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
We individually and as a corporate Church are the governing authority in the earth. Whatever we allow, God will allow, whatever we forbid, He will forbid. So, let’s get after it in Jesus’ name.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
