THE THRONE OF DAVID

Greetings dear children of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. This is a powerful (of course they all are) Book with many Prophecies of the coming Messiah. As we move forward, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry, the reach of the Truth. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is one I lifted off Facebook. Whoever posted it, thank you.
The last two days before we dove into our primary Scripture I asked the question, “Where are the David’s of today? I am talking about the David who was a shepherd boy and God chose to be King, then called him a man after His own heart (1 Sam 13:14, Acts 13:22)?” Were the lion, the bear, and Goliath at Church or in his prayer closet? Do we see David engaged in any special preparations before each encounter? The answer to both is a resounding “yes”, his capacity, his relationship with God, his faith in God started in his prayer chamber (shepherds’ fields) and each was preparation for what followed. Think of the account of his life, and the many Psalms he penned all of which we use today to build faith and encourage ourselves. There are many Goliath’s in the land taunting the Church, where is David? Are you a David? You remember when Goliath confronted the armies of Israel they were paralyzed (like the Church today). Satan and his evil hoards are confronting the armies (people) of God today. Is there a David. Let me set the scene and will pick up with it tomorrow.
1 Samuel 17:8-11 (KJV)
8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
David hears this when he brings supplies to his brothers. Perhaps I don’t need to but I want to remind each of us but today our foes are not flesh and blood but spiritual. We fight (and win) against the evil spirit forces behind the natural peoples.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The people are not our problem, the demons behind, deceiving the people are the problem. Those same people free of the demons and born again might be our very best friends and allies. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Scripture and continue reading aloud. You have been reading out loud, right? You know why!
Isaiah 9:6-9 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
I am picking up in verse seven and the statement that the increase of His (the Messiahs) Kingdom and peace will take place upon the throne of David. In other words that will be the seat of this government and peace. Think upon the following Scripture as we end for today.
Ezekiel 37:24-26 (KJV)
24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
Here it appears that King David of old will again rule over Jerusalem and Israel, at least in the Millennial period. Jesus, the Messiah will rule over Israel and the world from His administrative building constructed in the valley created when the Mount of Olives cleaves in half.
Zechariah 14:4 (KJV)
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 14:8-10 (KJV)
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
What an exciting time dear ones and we will be there in some capacity, official capacity, as kings and priests of the Kingdom. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
