JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE

Greetings dear and precious saints of the Most High God, the only Living God, and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Before we move forward, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with exceeding good news. Thank you for sharing. I took this picture in Maine a few years ago. This is what the people in Maine are dealing with and this is what we are thanking God that we are not dealing with here in Texas. Before we tackle our text for today, I will make a few comments about stewardship, being a good steward. A steward is one who manages the assets or has control of another’s property for a set time. Employees in general are stewards, responsible for some aspect of the business, another’s property. If you borrow a car, lawnmower, etc. you are responsible for that equipment, to maintain it as found and return it as found. Have you ever loaned your car and got it back full of trash and empty bottles? This is an example of being a poor steward. Have you ever had a guest that trashed the room you provided for them in your home? Thoughtfully meditate the following Scriptures and if you recognize that you are guilty of poor stewardship you can repent, changing that today.
Matthew 25:23 (KJV)
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Luke 16:10-12 (KJV)
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
Might a poor steward of natural things be a poor steward of spiritual things including the Word of God. Definitely, yes. All physical manifestations originate in the spiritual realm. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. You know why. We are not building an information reservoir but building faith with which to please God. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Isaiah 9:6-9 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
I have been working my way down through this Messianic passage slowly with the Holy Spirit shedding much light. We ended last week in the seventh verse and will pick up today with the phrase “with judgment and with justice”. The purpose of a government, whether it be in your home, a school, our town, or the whole country is to provide order and to establish a standard for judgment and justice. Holy Scripture sets the order and provides the guidelines for judgment and justice. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords and you and I dear brother and sisters are the under kings and lords serving Him and the kingdom. This Kingdom now exists in Heaven and in earth. The earth portion of the Kingdom of God is in great chaos and division. This should not be dear ones. True Christians are letting their differences with others in the body of Christ to bring division rather than letting their common beliefs and goals unit.
From our text the word ‘judgment’ has to do with rendering a verdict and the word ‘justice’ has to do with judging rightly. So, this Kingdom, the rulers of this Kingdom starting with Christ Jesus will render righteous verdicts concerning the people and matters of the Kingdom. As I end for today, let’s take a look at the word ‘zeal’ in the last phrase of verse seven. This word is a feminine noun meaning zeal, jealousy. This word comes from the verb qānāʾ <H7065>, meaning to be jealous or zealous, and describes an intense fervor, passion, and emotion according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary – Old Testament. The gender of the word ‘zeal’ is feminine telling us it can bear fruit, be it good or bad, in this case good. This phrase is also telling us that the Lord is very zealous, very committed to righteous judgment and thus we must be as well.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Don’t forget, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
