THE LORD SENT A WORD

Greetings dear and precious saints of the Almighty God and welcome back to this powerful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word that we need not wander in confusion and stumbling in the dark but have fulness of light. Before we move forward, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the good news, the best news by far anyone, anywhere, at anytime has, is, or could hear. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was taken in my study looking out on a snow storm last year while we were still in Maine. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud. Yes, out loud, and you know why.
Isaiah 9:8-11 (KJV)
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
Earlier in Isaiah we have heard the Word of the Lord against Judah (Judah and Benjamin) but now it is against Israel (ten tribes) and all for the same reasons, turning to other gods. As we read down through verses nine and ten, we find they are a prideful, haughty peoples with hardened hearts. Sounds a lot like the folks at the Tower of Babel don’t you think? After the flood of Noah, God commanded again that man fill the whole earth.
Genesis 9:1 (AMP)
1 AND GOD pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
However, they rebelled staying in one place and starting to build a tower to reach into Heaven itself.
Genesis 11:4 (KJV)
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
I wonder who inspired that thinking? Satan (Lucifer fallen) inspired that thinking for it is his thinking! The fallen nature of man is to be his own god just as Satan wanted to be god, his own god. Pride got Lucifer thrown out of Heaven and a huge demotion.
Isaiah 14:13-14 (KJV)
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
As we come into verse eleven of our primary Bible text the Lord is telling us, more importantly telling them how they will be brought low. They have sowed disobedience and now they have hardened their own hearts and are reaping the harvest of that disobedience. God does not hide anything from us. However due to our pride, arrogance, and hardness of heart over time (which we did over a long period of time) destruction comes. It is not the will of God that any perish.
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
These are choices we freely make all the while encouraged by demons. We make these choices to feed our own lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, and pride.
James 1:13-15 (KJV)
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
