FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK FIFTY-THREE
HONOR THE KING

1 Peter 2:16-18 (KJV)
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. (Bold added)
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome once again to “From the Prophets Chamber”. Before we dive fully into this short teaching of what the Lord has quickened in my heart, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible expanding our reach with the Truth. Today will be a short teaching on honoring the king. It is not short because there is not much written in the Word of God but how I think the Lord is leading for this teaching. I may be putting together a much more extensive teaching in the time to come. We do not have kings as heads of government here in America but we do have rulers, those given places of authority with various levels of jurisdiction. If you have been watching the Church during this time of the COVID pandemic you would think the Church has a special dispensation to dishonor those of authority. That is not so dear ones.
Remember we are to pray for those in authority, bless those in authority, and honor them. We are to obey the laws (yes, even mandates) of the land, both those we like and those we do not like. It seems to me there is a confusion in the Church about our obligation and responsibilities concerning those in authority. There seems to be a confusion between the Constitution of the United States and Holy Scripture. Our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and structure of government are wonderful and to be cherished and defended (not in rebellion). None of these documents are Scripture. While it is true that our founding and guiding documents are heavily based on the Word of God, they are not the Word of God. The Holy Scripture is far above these documents and obedience to Scripture including obedience to those in authority far exceeds these governing documents of the United States. Remember, all authority comes from God and rebellion against those in authority is rebellion against God. Second Samuel chapter twenty-four is a lesson for this time and I will write about it in another place. The Lord continues to wait for His people particularly those in leadership to come to repentance, contrition. The Church as a whole and the local Church have had and continue to have an opportunity to emerge from nonessential to very essential but that will not happen in the midst of rebellion. Meditate on the following passage.
Romans 13:1-4 (KJV)
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
What about the following passage?
Titus 3:1-2 (KJV)
1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
Do we imagine that Daniel, the other three Hebrew children, Esther and Mordecai and others were in agreement with what their heathen rulers did? Is there any place in Scripture that we see God’s people rebelling against authority except when they violated God’s moral law?
If we (body of Christ) don’t like the direction of the country, why do we keep putting the devils’ people in office? One last reminder, our Constitution and the Bill of Rights is not Bible. Please do not confuse the two.
Lord willing, I will have another fresh Word from the Throne next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
