Greetings dear and precious friends of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Can you believe the first month of this new year is nearly in the rear view mirror? Perhaps you have already experienced some of the wonderful things God has for each of us this year or perhaps they remain ahead. In any event we press ahead not allowing what we hear or see to deter us. Let each of us remember we are in charge of our emotions not the other way around. I once again invite those of you who are not financial partners with this Ministry to become partners. Seek the Lord and see what He would have you do. The Word of God is the very best news anyone, anywhere, at any time has or can hear. Having made the decision to follow close after Jesus the Christ it is baffling as to why anyone would reject Him. However, I remember the days when the devils made it seem so right and reasonable to reject Him if not forever, for now. Believe me the devils have no good things or end planned for anyone, you included. One may think they are their own man (or woman) but that is a lie of Satan. If we are not God’s man/woman we are the devil’s man/woman. Either Heaven is our eternal home, or Hell will be our eternal home. We and we alone make the choice, not God, not devils, and no other people. It is either Heaven or Hell, there is not a third choice. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. No silent reading unless you have no interest in pleasing God.
Ephesians 6:12-15 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Some years ago, the Lord pointed out to me that there are four major components of Truth. The Word is the Truth, the Holy Spirit is the Truth (Spirit of Truth), Jesus is the Truth, and Love is the Truth. The purpose of the Truth is to make us more and more like Jesus until we are exactly like Jesus. Yes, yes, yes, we can be exactly like Jesus. The manifestation of Truth in our lives does not automatically manifest because we have heard the Truth. We must receive, prove, believe, doubt not, and implement the Truth in our lives, ministry, as led by the Holy Spirit. All have heard some part of the Truth but very few have the evidence that they are becoming more like or just like Jesus. Why don’t we see people in our circles that are just like Jesus? Simple, deceptions of the enemy, no teaching, and false humility. Most of us don’t have anyone we can point to as a role model. We need to be able to say like Jesus did to Philip, if you’ve seen me, you have seen Jesus and you have seen the Father (John 14:9). Two weeks ago, I discussed how the Word is Truth and the Holy Spirit is Truth. Since we are in the image and likeness of God (Triune) we also are truth in Him. Last week we centered up on how Jesus is the Truth. Since we are in the image and likeness of God, we too are to be the embodiment of Truth. Today I will move forward and talk briefly about how Love is Truth.
Psalm 119:142 (KJV)
142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
What is the greatest of the Laws and applicable to us today?
Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We fulfil this law of love (agape), this commandment, in Christ Jesus aided by the Holy Spirit and in so doing fulfil all of the law. Having our loins girt about with Truth means we are doing the Word. We are focused on being exactly like Jesus. We seek with all our hearts to be led of the Holy Spirit into all Truth and be empowered to do all Truth. Finally, but not least, we must walk the Love (agape) walk.
Lord willing next week I will move forward to the breastplate of righteousness.
