Greeting dear and precious children of God, and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog and our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah Monday through Thursday each week. Please take a moment to share this teaching by every means available to you to broaden the reach of this Ministry. Thank you so much for sharing.
Before we launch into our primary Bible text from the Book of Isaiah, I want us all to consider the following. Is there TV in Heaven? Now, let’s not get hung up on the exact technology. You remember when movie theaters first sprang up, especially the drive-in theaters how we were told they were the devil’s playground. Were they right? Did you grin and poo poo that like I did? How does the enemy come? He comes as an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14) with a very tiny deception, temptation. That small wedge will eventually topple the whole tree. In Heaven will we be able to get caught up on all the past episodes of say NCIS? Let me ask a question. How do we decide what to watch on TV or which movie to watch? Do we ask ourselves if the selected program reflects the thoughts, the Words, and ways of God? All spoken words (including songs) are seeds, be they good or bad, being deposited into our soul. The question is this, whose ideas are being sown? Remember the Words of the Master.
Mark 4:24 (PassionNTPsa)
24 Then he said to them, “Be diligent to understand the meaning behind everything you hear, for as you do, more understanding will be given to you. And according to the depth of your longing to understand, much more will be added to you.
Please focus in on the first part of the verse. This is very important for all of us to focus and evaluate all that we hear. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 25:9-12 (NLT)
9 In that day the people will proclaim, “This is our God! We trusted in him, and he saved us! This is the LORD, in whom we trusted. Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!”
10 For the LORD’s hand of blessing will rest on Jerusalem. But Moab will be crushed. It will be like straw trampled down and left to rot.
11 God will push down Moab’s people as a swimmer pushes down water with his hands. He will end their pride and all their evil works.
12 The high walls of Moab will be demolished. They will be brought down to the ground, down into the dust.
As you know the preceding verses of this chapter have been a combination of God bringing justice for His people and that continues in our primary text above, and end time prophecy. Pride is the sin that brought Lucifer down and is rampant in one way or another in and out of the Church. Moab is, I believe, used symbolically to illustrate the outcome of all peoples with pride.
Isaiah 16:6 (NLT)
6 We have heard about proud Moab— about its pride and arrogance and rage. But all that boasting has disappeared.
Moäb is an incestuous son of Lot, the father of the Moabites according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
Genesis 19:36-38 (KJV)
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
The territory or countries of Moab and Ammon are just east of the dead sea (very near their birthplaces) which is modern day Jordan. I am not sure if the crushing of Moab, the Moabites, has taken place or is a future event. Jordan (Moab) currently has a treaty with Israel which appears to be in place through the Tribulation period. As you will recall they play a critical role in sheltering the believing (in Messiah) Jews during the Great Tribulation.
Revelation 12:14 (KJV)
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Lord willing, I will pick up with chapter twenty-six of Isaiah tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
