AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE THREATS, THE TAUNTING CONTINUES
Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful and instructive Book. Of course, we could say the same about the other sixty-five Books of the Bible as well. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you greatly expanding our reach. Thank you for sharing. Our Bible is a Book of life. This Bible is not just cheering us up for the hereafter, but is for now and forever. Don’t buy into that poverty and suffering teaching that seems so popular, it is not Bible. That is not to say that Christians won’t have great challenges. The Truth is this. Christ conquered and we need only occupy keeping our spiritual enemies under our feet in the name of Jesus. We are to control (we the Church) the seven gates or mountains of society (religion, government, sports/entertainment, media/information, education, science, finance). Currently the world (Satan) controls them all including Religion. Children of God suffer defeats due to ignorance and unbelief. We can be lazy and not study to rightly divide the Word. The Word of God, the Truth, received, believed and acted upon is nothing but victory and nothing but increase.
Many believe the wrong things (doctrines of demons, traditions of men). Consequently, they are not seeing the promises manifest. In spite of no fruit, they don’t find out why and change, renew their minds, to the Truth. By the way these wrong ideas are commonly taught right in Church giving them a religious flare. We tend to receive them without testing them, that is to say, we don’t ask about context or for other Bible witnesses. Saying it loud, with emotion, and often does not make it right or the Truth. Now, let’s bring our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 37:9-13 (TLB)
9 But at this point the Assyrian king received word that Tirhakah, crown prince of Ethiopia, was leading an army against him [from the south]. Upon hearing this, he sent messengers back to Jerusalem to Hezekiah with this message:
10 “Don’t let this God you trust in fool you by promising that Jerusalem will not be captured by the king of Assyria!
11 Just remember what has happened wherever the kings of Assyria have gone, for they have crushed everyone who has opposed them. Do you think you will be any different?
12 Did their gods save the cities of Gozan, Haran, or Rezeph, or the people of Eden in Telassar? No, the Assyrian kings completely destroyed them!
13 And don’t forget what happened to the king of Hamath, to the king of Arpad, and to the kings of the cities of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah.”
There is another country coming against Assyria however the Assyrian King gets off a letter to King Hezekiah reiterating all that his chief of staff had said previously. He is trying to get King Hezekiah, Jerusalem, to give up without a fight, to capitulate to his demands. Immediately upon receiving the letter King Hezekiah takes the letter to the Temple and lays it out before the Lord. This is a pattern for what we are to do when the demons threaten us with this or that directly or through their emissaries (other people, media).
Isaiah 37:14-20 (TLB)
14 As soon as King Hezekiah had read this letter, he went over to the Temple and spread it out before the Lord
15 and prayed, saying,
16 “O Lord, Almighty God of Israel enthroned between the Guardian Angels, you alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone made heaven and earth.
17 Listen as I plead; see me as I pray. Look at this letter from King Sennacherib, for he has mocked the living God.
18 It is true, O Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all those nations, just as the letter says,
19 and thrown their gods into the fire; for they weren’t gods at all but merely idols, carved by men from wood and stone. Of course the Assyrians could destroy them.
20 O Lord our God, save us so that all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you are God, and you alone.”
Look at verse twenty (number of redemption) and see it you don’t think it sounds like David facing Goliath.
1 Samuel 17:46 (KJV)
46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
Let us face our enemies in the same way, with boldness. The family name, the name of our Father is on the line.
