WENT TO THE TEMPLE TO PRAY

Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful and instructive Book. Of course, we could say the same about the other sixty-five Books of the Bible as well. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you greatly expanding our reach. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is a representation of the Prophet Isaiah.
Our Bible is a Book of life. This Bible is not just life for later, but for now and forever. Don’t buy into that poverty and suffering teaching that seems so popular, it is not Bible. That is not to say that Christians won’t have great challenges. The Truth is this. Christ conquered and we need only occupy keeping our spiritual enemies under our feet in the name of Jesus. Children of God suffer defeats due to ignorance and unbelief. We can be lazy and not study to rightly divide the Word. The Word of God, the Truth, received, believed and acted upon is nothing but victory and nothing but increase. Many believe the wrong things (doctrines of demons, traditions of men). Consequently, they are not seeing the promises manifest. In spite of no fruit, they don’t find out why and change, renew their minds, to the Truth. By the way these wrong ideas are commonly taught right in Church giving them a religious flare. We tend to receive them without testing them, that is to say, where are the other witnesses. Saying it loud, with emotion, and often does not make it right. Now, let’s bring our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 37:1-4 (TLB)
1 When King Hezekiah heard the results of the meeting, he tore his robes and wound himself in coarse cloth used for making sacks, as a sign of humility and mourning, and went over to the Temple to pray.
2 Meanwhile he sent Eliakim his prime minister, and Shebna his royal scribe, and the older priests—all dressed in sackcloth—to Isaiah the prophet, son of Amoz.
3 They brought him this message from Hezekiah: “This is a day of trouble and frustration and blasphemy; it is a serious time, as when a woman is in heavy labor trying to give birth and the child does not come.
4 But perhaps the Lord your God heard the blasphemy of the king of Assyria’s representative as he scoffed at the living God. Surely God won’t let him get away with this. Surely God will rebuke him for those words. Oh, Isaiah, pray for us who are left!”
King Hezekiah immediately went to prayer and consulted with the Prophet Isaiah. In those days the Holy Spirit was not available to every person and so the Prophets who were Anointed spoke into the lives of individuals, people groups, and nations. This remains true today, Prophets have not ceased to be nor have they ceased to function. Look back at my recent teaching on Prophets and Prophecy or purchase my book “Prophetic Voice in the Land”. In those days (Old Testament) three key figures were Anointed. These were the Prophet, the High Priest, and the King. Now, let’s see how Isaiah responded.
Isaiah 37:5-8 (TLB)
5 So they took the king’s message to Isaiah.
6 Then Isaiah replied, “Tell King Hezekiah that the Lord says, Don’t be disturbed by this speech from the servant of the king of Assyria and his blasphemy.
7 For a report from Assyria will reach the king that he is needed at home at once, and he will return to his own land, where I will have him killed.”
8 Now the Assyrian envoy left Jerusalem and went to consult his king, who had left Lachish and was besieging Libnah.
Seems right to the point. Is God any less zealous for His people today? We also are not to be disturbed by the speech of the demons who speak into our ears daily nor their agents, the people and media sources around us. In order for the door to be open to God to move in our situations like in this situation we have to do our part. As we see here their part, our part now, is to not be disturbed. Another way of putting it would be to say, fear not. What if we fear, or they fear? It closes the door to the Hand of God. Feeling or knowing the spirit of fear is present is altogether different from letting him in and having or being in fear. What is one way we combat or resist fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
In the name of Jesus, we bind the spirit of fear (Power of God), we stay in love (agape), and we control, we exercise a disciplined mind. Love is the power of our faith.
