THE GOD OF ISRAEL SAYS

Greeting dear children of the Father, servants of the King of kings, and those taught, comforted, and helped by the Helper. Welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is of an old Church in the State of Delaware to remind us to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
As kings under the authority of The King (Jesus) we are commanded to pray with all types of prayers and in our prayer language (tongues) for all saints (other Christians). This assignment for intercessory prayer is vital for us all. Vital that we obey this command and pray and that there be those who are praying for us. We have a relentless enemy and we need constant intercessory prayer giving God the legal authority to intervene. This is a vital part of our ministry in the earth. This can be the difference between life and death for another. Now, lets turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 37:20-23 (HCSB)
20 Now, LORD our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD—You alone.
21 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent ⌊a message⌋ to Hezekiah: “The LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,
22 this is the word the LORD has spoken against him: Virgin Daughter Zion despises you and scorns you: Daughter Jerusalem shakes ⌊her⌋ head behind your back.
23 Who is it you have mocked and blasphemed? Who have you raised ⌊your⌋ voice against and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
Through his representatives King Hezekiah has heard the threats and demands of the king of Assyria. He had sent a message to the Prophet Isaiah. This was Isaiah’s response.
Isaiah 37:6-7 (KJV)
6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Sure, doesn’t sound like things are not going to end well for the King of Assyria or his kingdom (look at verse thirty-six of this same chapter). Now, King Hezekiah has received a letter from the King of Assyria full of threats and testimonies of what they have done to other nations, heathen nations I might add. The problem now is that although Israel has repeatedly sinned, they are not a heathen nation and have Covenant with God. King Hezekiah shares the letter with the Prophet Isaiah and this is the response from God through Isaiah (our text in part). You will also notice in verse twenty-three that God took the Assyrian threats very personal. Remember Saul, later the Apostle Paul, on the Damascus Road.
Acts 26:14 (KJV)
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (Bold added)
Jesus took Saul’s persecution of Christians very personal. The same is true today when people driven by demons come against God’s people. Before I end for today, I want to take a moment and point something out from a passage I shared yesterday.
2 Kings 2:13-15 (KJV)
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. (Bold added)
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
Notice in verse fifteen how the sons of the prophets said: “The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha”. Was it Elijah’s spirit or the same Holy Spirit. Of course, it was the same Holy Spirit who was going to now manifest through Elisha like Elijah only in a double portion. The same is true of the Church we have picked up the mantle (Holy Spirit in fullness) of Jesus and as John 14:12 declares not only do the works He did but greater works.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
