HE WILL COME WITH A STRONG HAND

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. O how wonderful the Holy Scriptures are and to know they are reliable for our lives now and for eternity. Everything else is a facade. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth beyond our reach alone. The featured picture today is of a Church in Indiana to remind us to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Ephesians 6:18 (MSG)
18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
As you recognize this verse is the last of the Spiritual Armor verses. This verse is no less important than all the other pieces of armor which assure not only victory in every attack but the capacity to occupy until He comes or we go home. Sometimes we can get so caught up in ourselves, us four and no more, forgetting or putting others on the back burner. This must not be and we are in fact commanded to be purposeful, mindful, concerning our brothers and sisters in Christ. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Isaiah Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 40:9-11 (KJV)
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Today I am going to deal with verse ten predominately and perhaps further as the Holy Spirit leads. Sometime, what am I talking about, many times in this Prophetic Books nailing down the time frame being referenced is a bit of an enigma. As such I would not go to war with one with a difference of opinion, neither of our salvations hinges on that knowledge. It appears to me that the timeframe of verse eleven is at the Second Coming. The Second Coming is not the Rapture or Catching Away of the Church before the seven-year Tribulation Period. The Second Coming is when Jesus physically touches down defeating the assembled armies in what is referred to as Armageddon.
Zechariah 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
What a day this will be and you and I will be right there with the Lord. We are the “strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him”. O what a day! This is not the last hurrah for Satan and his cohorts but it is one day (thousand years) away. As I finish for today let’s look at this battle in the Book of Revelation.
Revelation 19:13-19 (KJV)
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
And how does that work out for the beast, the kings of the earth, and all their armies?
Revelation 19:20-21 (KJV)
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
