WHO IS EQUAL TO THE HOLY ONE?

Greetings dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries Inc. and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to our ongoing study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. What a ride! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with this beyond good, good news. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of some beautiful birds. This picture was taken by Marilyn Stevens who takes some absolutely stunning nature pictures. Thank you so much Marilyn. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. If you are not reading out loud this teaching and the contained Scriptures will be of little benefit for your spiritual growth or enhanced maturity for carrying out your Kingdom assignments.
Isaiah 40:25-28 (AMP)
25 To whom then will you liken Me, that I should be equal to him? says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high and see! Who has created these? He Who brings out their host by number and calls them all by name; through the greatness of His might and because He is strong in power, not one is missing or lacks anything.
27 Why, O Jacob, do you say, and declare, O Israel, My way and my lot are hidden from the Lord, and my right is passed over without regard from my God?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
Yesterday when we left off, I was talking about idols. Let us all ask the Lord to reveal any and all idols in our lives. Many things, events, people can be an idol which is when you consider it a god. Money is a common idol.
1 Timothy 6:10-12 (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
The word “love” in the tenth verse is avarice, a real consuming focus on every aspect of money. This is contrasted with Godly love (agapē) in verse eleven. Why do we so easily exchange the temporal for the eternal, inordinately focusing on it, even worshiping (submitting ourselves wholly to it) it? Think of those who refuse to tithe, offering really lame excuses. They are not only robbers of God but are in love with money. They love money more than God and we are told this is at least one “root of all evil”. Do any of us really want to travel in this company?
Picking up with Isaiah 40:25 I am hopeful that all reading this teaching can answer the questions. There is none like, not even close, to our God, there is none equal to our God, again not even close. Again He directs their attention and our attention to the hosts of Heaven which He not only created but has named them all. It is estimated that there are multiplied billions of galaxies with many stars contained within each. It is estimated that there are 100 thousand million stars in the Milky Way, our galaxy. In verse twenty-seven of our text there is complaining that God is really not paying attention to mankind, more specifically His people.
Isaiah 40:29-31 (AMP)
29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Our natural strength has limits but when we are looking to Him, not our idols, not other people, He will add His strength to ours. I have spoken before about God adding His peace to our making a perfect expression of peace but this is the case with many things. The whole account of the thorn in the flesh is an example of this. When we are at the end of our strength He steps in and supplies the strength needed.
Many of us are a little more used to seeing the 31st verse in the KJV.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
