LISTEN IN SILENCE BEFORE ME

Greetings dear friends and partners of Eastern Gate Ministries Inc. and The Three Minute Word blog. Welcome back to our ongoing study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. What a ride! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with this beyond good, good news. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of Donna and me on May 25th 2019, our wedding day. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud. If you are not reading out loud this teaching and the contained Scriptures will be of little benefit for your spiritual growth or enhanced maturity for carrying out your Kingdom assignments.
Isaiah 41:1-4 (TLB)
1 “Listen in silence before me, O lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.
2 “Who has stirred up this one from the east, whom victory meets at every step? Who, indeed, but the Lord? God has given him victory over many nations and permitted him to trample kings underfoot and to put entire armies to the sword.
3 He chases them away and goes on safely, though the paths he treads are new.
4 Who has done such mighty deeds, directing the affairs of generations of mankind as they march by? It is I, the Lord, the First and Last; I alone am he.”
This is like the 38th chapter of Job, when God is putting Job in His place and here His people of Israel in their place, and perhaps us in our place. It seems to me it is way to easy to lose sight of how great our God really is. Humility is in short supply in the world and among His people. God is asking for His people to bring their best argument as to who might challenge the greatness of their God. He has and is telling them; you are turning everywhere but where the eternal and very best answers lie. He is speaking to us dear ones as well. God warns of this apostasy, falling away, I might add by choice, throughout Scripture. We have a tendency to rebel against being dependent upon God, even other people. Lucifer had the same problem. All too often we say we are dependent upon God, that He is our source, all the while searching in our own strength, wisdom, for the answer, the provision. Don’t get me wrong, we will always have a part in any provision of God in our life and until we do that, He will not do His part. Just think about when you were saved. You had to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart then and only then were you saved.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
It is pretty much the same with everything else in the Kingdom. God keeps asking the question, who is like me, then He answers it for them (this is how much darkness we are in and don’t even know it) telling them and us “It is I, the Lord, the First and Last; I alone am he.”
Isaiah 41:5-9 (TLB)
5 The lands beyond the sea watch in fear and wait for word of Cyrus’ new campaigns. Remote lands tremble and mobilize for war.
6-7 The craftsmen encourage each other as they rush to make new idols to protect them. The carver hurries the goldsmith, and the molder helps at the anvil. “Good,” they say. “It’s coming along fine. Now we can solder on the arms.” Carefully they join the parts together and then fasten the thing in place so it won’t fall over!
8 “But as for you, O Israel, you are mine, my chosen ones; for you are Abraham’s family, and he was my friend.
9 I have called you back from the ends of the earth and said that you must serve but me alone, for I have chosen you and will not throw you away.
Yes, we must develop the very best weapons we can for our defense or offense but we must stay focused with the Almighty God in the highest place. We are not to focus on our technology with God being secondary. As we enter verse five God through His Prophet is pointing out that many are trembling and preparing for war listening for the latest concerning Cyrus. Let me point out that Cyrus is not coming along for another 100 years in the time of the Prophet Daniel. So now, we have entered into a prophetic portion of Scripture with good news for the Jews. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
