FRIDAY NUGGETS
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – PART TWELVE
LOVE – PART THREE

Greeting dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Friday Bible Study named Friday Nuggets. I am currently exploring the Fruit of the Spirit, and today is part twelve and part three of the fruit, love. As I move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means at your disposal to expand, extend, our reach with this wonderful, nothing like it, news. There is no better news than that contained in the Holy Bible and demonstrated in our lives. What is the testimony of our lives, the fruit produced by our lives in Christ Jesus? I am not answering that question, it is for each of us to ponder, and answer individually. Now continuing to read out loud, let’s read our primary Bible text.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Once again today let’s spend some time dealing with the fruit of love. This is the God kind of love and you will recall that God is love (agapē/agapaō). If God is love and we are in His image and likeness, of like kind, then we also are love. Are we manifesting it or is it a secret to those around us? The antonym (opposite) for love is hate. What is the witness of our thoughts, words, and actions? Love originated with God, was given to mankind in the creation, and thus we have the same capacity for expressing, producing the fruit of love, as our Heavenly Father. Remember fruit is the useful part of our lives. In the case of love, do we obey the Word keeping ourselves next to the Master, on the same path, in the same mindset, giving Him the authority to flow in and through us? Are our motives pure, focused on the Lord and other people or ourselves? Do we know and honor the Blood Covenant we entered at Calvary? Do people see us as the real deal (in the image of Christ) or just another play actor (hypocrite)? A Christian in word but not deed?
Now, I will continue dealing with the three major components of this Godly love expressed by God and given to mankind to be expressed in the furtherance of the Kingdom of God and mankind. I will be discussing the three major components in a certain order but know that we must be, express, all three in unison (agreement, harmony, union). First is obedience to Scripture. Remember this, Scripture is our teacher, our example, our guide, the source of our obligations and delineates our benefits. The Scripture is the text of our Blood Covenant which we enter at salvation.
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
If one definition of our love (agapē/agapaō) of God is obedience to Scripture, the terms of our Blood Covenant (between each of us and God), then how might we expect Gods’ expression of love (agapē/agapaō) towards us? Exactly the same, exactly what our Covenant, our contract, says, sealed by the Blood of Jesus. There is no manifestation of God in any of our lives absent our expression of love towards Him. I have left one step out, for God took steps to make the Blood Covenant, salvation, available when we didn’t know we needed it. So, He acted to make it available but it is not automatic, we must act, and then the terms of the Covenant is performed by God.
John 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Everyone is not automatically saved but salvation was made available to all. God did the heavy lifting. However, we must then believe to enter the Contract, this Blood Covenant. When we do, we are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Isn’t this just wonderful!? Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Friday.
