FRIDAY NUGGETS
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – PEACE – QUIETNESS

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and those who are not yet saints. Become a saint today if you are not, simply repeat the following verse putting it in the first person and in your own hearing.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Simply say out loud: I declare Jesus as Lord of my life and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead, I receive salvation, I am saved. Welcome to the Light, the Kingdom of God. Send us your testimony. As I move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing.
Now, let’s move to our primary text for the study of the fruits of the spirit. Today I will be continuing our study of the fruit of peace. However much I have to say about peace there will be much left to be said. Please continue to read out loud.
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
This week I will pick up with the fourth aspect of six aspects of the spiritual fruit of peace, a fruit of our spirit. Our peace is a duplicate albeit undeveloped of the Fathers’. From our primary text the Greek word transliterated to English as peace is eirēnē meaning (to join), prosperity, one, quietness, rest, and to be set at one again (with God) according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Last Friday I talked about our being one again as a part of peace. Before Christ our spirit man was dead, our soul was renewed to the world system (the system of demons), and our bodies were not destined to be like that of our Savior. Now in Christ Jesus our spirit is alive and in the will of God able to bring forth supernatural fruit, we are renewing our minds by study of the Word, and our bodies are scheduled for a wonderful upgrade very soon.
At this time let’s examine the quietness aspect of peace. It seems to me that this commonly what is being talked about in any discussion of Bible peace but as you can see this is but one part. Thinking in the context of peace what brings this peace. God does not make us develop our peace nor make us be quiet. When we know we are joined with, walking hand in hand with our God we can have quietness, peace. Now, if we doubt this or believe that trouble comes into everyone’s life, we will not have peace, quietness but anxiety and fear opening the door to the enemy. The threat of trouble comes to everyone, it is up to us as to whether we open the door or not. Prosperity gives us a quietness, peace. Oh no, the money thing again!
Ecclesiastes 7:12 (KJV)
12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Ecclesiastes 10:19 (KJV)
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.
Perhaps we can find a really good theologian to confuse these Scriptures, make them not apply to here and now. Knowing that we are one, have a wonderful eternal future spirit, soul, and body brings a quietness. The Lord is so good dear ones. We have a role to play in this quietness and it is that of a disciplined mind.
John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
It is a command to not let our hearts, minds, become agitated and to not let ourselves enter into or allow fear (more accurately) enter us. Confusion and agitation are not of God and neither is fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
The term sound mind here means a disciplined mind. Don’t think, or speak anything contrary to the Word of God and as best you can don’t listen to things contrary to the Word of God. Jesus said be careful what you hear and how you hear. Let in the Truth, reject the trash.
Lord willing, I will pick up with this ongoing study of peace with the topic of rest next Friday.
