THOU SHALT FAN THEM

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to keep His people fully informed if they will but look at His Book and study. As we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. You are important to us and to the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today is of Donna and me on one of our outing a couple of years ago. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 41:13-17 (KJV)
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
Just as God is encouraging His people at that time to return to Him, to take His Hand and fulfil the wonderful destiny He had for them, so His Hand is extended today to us. You might say, I’m walking hand in Hand with the Lord. Perhaps, what fruit is present in your life? Where are the heads of our Goliath’s? Do you speak to the mountains the enemy brings and they melt out of your life or do you skirt around them, perhaps even compromise with them. God has designed us, given us authority, and endued us with Power to be supernatural threshing instruments completely destroying any attempted works of the enemy in our lives. They are attempted evil works for Jesus already destroyed the works of the devil, we are to occupy all that is now ours, which is everything. The mountains are to be nothing to us as we move into verse sixteen. Let’s take a look at this verse in The Living Bible.
Isaiah 41:16 (TLB)
16 You shall toss them in the air; the wind shall blow them all away; whirlwinds shall scatter them. And the joy of the Lord shall fill you full; you shall glory in the God of Israel.
Notice the phrase “the joy of the Lord”. Where have we heard that before?
Nehemiah 8:10 (TLB)
10 it is a time to celebrate with a hearty meal and to send presents to those in need, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. You must not be dejected and sad!”
How might we understand this Truth that “the joy of the Lord” is our strength? It does not say that our joy is our strength. It says that it is the Lords’ joy which is our strength. You will recall from the Nehemiah text that the people (recurring problem) of God had wandered from the Word of God, the will of God. They repented of their sin. This repentance, return to God (much like taking the Hand of God in our Isaiah text) brought great joy to the Lord. This obedience, repentance of His people once again allowed or loosed the Hand of the Lord to move in their behalf. And so, it is with us. We get off His path doing our own thing and His Power will not, cannot flow on our behalf. As I am bringing our teaching for today to an end, please take close notice of the command “You must not be dejected and sad!” We are not to be looking back and mourning over past failures but to rejoice in the Lord for our cleanness in Him lunging forward.
Philippians 3:13 (TLB)
13 No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
