WHO IS MY EQUAL
Greetings dear saints of like precious faith and welcome back to our captivating and empowering Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Many need to hear the Truth both in and outside the Church. If you did not share, please reconsider. The beautiful picture today is of Donna and me on an outing last fall. The Lord is good, real good dear ones.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud, yes, out loud. It is not a complete waste to read silently but you will not build or increase faith (Romans 10:17) and it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Now, to our text reading out loud.
Isaiah 46:3-6 (NLT)
3 “Listen to me, descendants of Jacob, all you who remain in Israel. I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born.
4 I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
5 “To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal?
6 Some people pour out their silver and gold and hire a craftsman to make a god from it. Then they bow down and worship it!
As we move into verse five, we find the Lord asking His people and us, we are His people as well, to whom can I be compared, who is my equal. I am hopeful we all have the right answer to this question. The proper response is: “no one Lord, no one even comes close”. How many personalities can you name that have created anything even close to all of the physical world? I am not talking just about our world, earth, but all that we know to exist physically. All of creation is an elegant design and the very laws we have defined argue that it should have disintegrated long ago but yet here it is. Someone may have said there was a big bang. Perhaps there was. When and how did that occur. No physical law supports the notion of the advancement or improvement of any living thing or nonliving structure. Evolution is an unsupportable fantasy. As one man said it takes way more faith to believe in evolution than it does creation by an all-powerful and all-knowing God. Again, to whom can we compare the God of the Bible, who might be His equal? No one! One side point I want to make is that there is no comparison between God and Satan. Sometimes when the world speaks and even Christians you would that that Satan was superior and the outcome of any conflict between them hangs in the balance. Satan can in no way be compared to God, for that matter us. Neither, Satan nor any demon is all knowing, all places present, or all powerful.
Ephesians 1:20-23 (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The idea in verse twenty-one of “far above” is not like floor to ceiling, it is an incalculable distance above. And notice we are the body and also “far above”. This is wonderful dear ones! Enough with the all-night vigils, screeching, hollering, repeated commanding or worse yet asking God to cast out a demon or demons. Jesus our example cast them out with a word and moved on, it was done.
Matthew 8:16 (NLT)
16 That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick.
The answer to verse five of our text is a resounding “NO ONE”!
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
