Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this Bible teaching of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good. Please take a moment and share this and all teachings of this Ministry as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. We all need the Truth; we are responsible to live it and share it as opportunity arises and led of the Holy Spirit. What people with whom we share do with it is up to them just as it has been up to us from the age of understanding. Scripture tells us that some plant, some water, but it is God that gives the increase. The results are above our pay grade so to speak. The featured picture today is of a beautiful Blue Jay and was provided by Joe Getchell Jr. a faithful man of God and one who takes wonderful pictures. Thank you so much Joe.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 50:10-11 (KJV)
10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
I will now present these same verses in the New Living Translation (a thought-for-thought translation) to bring increased clarity.
Isaiah 50:10-11 (NLT)
10 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the LORD
and rely on your God.
11 But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon fall down in great torment.
These two verses, especially verse ten is somewhat perplexing. I suggest you look at them in different versions to come to a right conclusion. It seems that the first part of verse ten is a question and the answer is, no one. The reason I say that is the verse continues saying the person is walking in darkness. Then the verse turns again and gives the answer, gives hope, which is to trust in the Lord, rely upon God. Then as we enter verse eleven, we see those who are providing their own light perhaps calling it the Word of God. These are those living by the traditions of men, the doctrines of demons and calling it the truth. These are the Pharisees, Sadducees, and doctors of the Law of old and many Churches today. Verse eleven reminds me of something Jesus said.
Matthew 6:21-24 (KJV)
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Where is our treasure? The eye being single is referring to referring to the Kingdom of God. Then Jesus mentions an evil eye meaning it is not single. Does this remind you of anything.
Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV)
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
The evil eye, the evil person, mixes good and evil and the result is evil. Glancing back at verse eleven of our primary text, I don’t like the sound of that, so let’s keep our eye single, on the good which is Christ.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord is good beyond compare.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
