Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to this Bible teaching of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. The Lord is so good. Please take a moment and share this and all teachings of this Ministry as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. We all need the Truth; we are responsible to live it and share it as opportunity arises and led of the Holy Spirit. What people with whom we share do with it is up to them just as it has been up to us from the age of understanding. Scripture tells us that some plant, some water, but it is God that gives the increase. The results are above our pay grade so to speak. The featured picture today is of a beautiful bird and was provided by Marilyn Stevens who takes stunning wildlife photos. Thank you, Marilyn.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 51:1-5 (NIV)
1 “Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
2 look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.
3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.
4 “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.
5 My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.
Wow, we are moving forward into a new chapter in this wonderful Book of Isaiah. I know there are many who shun and have nasty things to say about the New International Version (NIV) claiming that certain key things are left out, supposedly on purpose. It has come to my attention that it is not so much that something was intentionally left out but that the manuscript(s) used were different and I’m told older than those for the KJV of the Bible. You do know there are no original manuscripts? I hope this is of help. In order to properly study one will need to not only look at various translations, do word studies, and evaluate the text in light of context and the whole of Scripture. This is called rightly dividing Scripture. Looking at a single verse can sometimes bring confusion, a mischaracterization of the Lord, and even lead into another gospel. This “another gospel” is what I called “Sacred Cows Among the Ekklesia” in my book by that title.
How beautifully this 51st chapter starts, this should be very familiar to all but the youngest in the Lord. It starts with a command. Are we ready to listen, do we have ears to hear? This is an interesting question and how do we know we have ears to hear. If we are listening to be polite, are allowing ourselves to be distracted, or have no interest in the subject matter, do we have ears to hear. I don’t think so. Do you think any of this is why we can come out of a Church Service and by the time we get to the foyer have no idea what the sermon was about? Don’t lie, that’s happened to you. Did we have ears to hear? No! Having ears to hear is not automatic. It has to done on purpose. We have to come to know that Scripture is our life, the ways of God are the way of salvation and all that entails. Let us not be the persons we just discussed in Isaiah 50:11 who lie down in torment having gone their own way.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow, next month already. Remember the Lord is really good.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
