THERE IS NO JUSTICE
Video link: https://youtu.be/UJxFGBXZQBM
Greetings dear and precious saints of God. Even if you are not a saint of God you are still precious to Him and therefore to us. He paid the highest price ever paid for each of us to have the option of redemption. Dear ones, it is not about Church, although that is very important, it is about a personal relationship with the Redeemer, Christ Jesus, His Father, and His Holy Spirit. The featured picture today is of an old but beautiful Church in Iowa. The purpose for the image is to remind us all to intercede for our brothers and sister around us, our Church, and the Church at large. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text today in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 59:7-10 (NASB)
7 Their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
8 They do not know the way of peace, And there is no justice in their tracks; They have made their paths crooked, Whoever treads on them does not know peace.
9 Therefore justice is far from us, And righteousness does not overtake us; We hope for light, but behold, darkness, For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 We grope along the wall like blind men, We grope like those who have no eyes; We stumble at midday as in the twilight, Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.
Today let’s pick up with “the way of peace” again and then move into the lack of justice. As a society disintegrates absent the Word of God justice starts to disappear. Back to peace.
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I want to point out that obtaining and maintaining the peace of God, one of the fruit of our spirit, doesn’t just fall on you because you were born again or filled with His Spirit. Yes, it is there but like everything else in our Christian walk it must be exercised and matured. Isaiah 26:3 tells us that if we will keep our mind on Him, not the threat, He will keep us in perfect peace. Trust is involved, trust in Him. Unwavering, single minded, fully persuaded trust. The battle is in keeping the mind on Him. If we were not able to do it He would not have said it, that would have been unjust. At the birth of the Church on Resurrection Day the first thing Jesus says is “Peace be with you”.
John 20:21-22 (NASB)
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
There are many things Jesus could have said, but the first thing Jesus spoke of is peace. This tells us how important this is in our walk with Him. Remember peace is not just a calm or tranquil feeling, state of mind although that is essential. When we examine the Old Testament word shālôm translated to English as peace we find it has to do with being safe, healthy, and prosperous according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Now, back to justice in verse eight of the primary text.
Isaiah 59:8 (NASB)
8 They do not know the way of peace, And there is no justice in their tracks; They have made their paths crooked, Whoever treads on them does not know peace.
Now let’s look at the same verse in Young’s Literal Translation.
Isaiah 59:8 (YLT)
8 A way of peace they have not known, And there is no judgment in their paths, Their paths they have made perverse for themselves, No treader in it hath known peace.
The way of world is devoid of peace and all who enter the path of the world will not know peace or justice. Dear ones, it is very important that we stay on the path the Master has created for us which is nothing but good. A path other than the one He prepared for us to walk will have nothing but stealing, killing, and destroying on it (John 10:10).
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
