REBUILD THE OLD RUINS

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our enabling study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a favored people to have the Word of God to light our path. Many of the people we read about in this wonderful Book, the Book that is our life, did not have what we have to guide them but still they did wonderful things. They walked in all the light they had; they were obedient to all of the Word they had. Of course, there were other who did not and their lives, outcomes, are a powerful example for our learning. The featured picture today is the State House in Montgomery Alabama. This is to remind us to pray for our government.
Ezra 7:25-26 (NKJV)
25 And you, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, set magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are in the region beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach those who do not know them.
26 Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be death, or banishment, or confiscation of goods, or imprisonment.
Is this still the will of God? Of course it is! Be reminded that the structure of our government with three co-equal branched of government comes right out of Scripture. This guards against an excessive concentration of power in one persons hand.
Isaiah 33:22 (NKJV)
22 (For the LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us);
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. How does faith come?
Isaiah 61:4-7 (NKJV)
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast.
7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.
You will recall, if not go back and review, that in the last chapter the Lord talked about His will for His people, what the Millennial Reign would look like, and finally the New Heaven and the New Earth. Well, this chapter has now circled back to what our lives individually and as a body is supposed to look like. Does it? If you answered “No” then could we accurately conclude that we are out of the will of God?
As we plunge into verse four, we find that we are supposed to be rebuilding places that are in ruin, raising up places of desolation, or people that are desolated. Places of desolation or people experiencing desolation are unhappy, in misery, in despair, anguish and despondency. Dear ones we have the answer for these places and the people in these places. The Word of God, the Blood of Jesus, the payment for sin, the Resurrection, the return of kingly authority, the Anointing of the Holy Spirit endued with Power, in the Kingdom of God, is the answer to all the curse. Are the things mentioned in verse four going to happen with a salvation prayer and being filled with the Holy Spirit alone? Part of the salvation package is prosperity and health.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
