Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. We are such a loved and blessed peoples. It is in many ways beyond the scope of our current languages in the earth to describe His love, His blessing, His goodness (glory) towards all, especially those of the household of faith. Dear ones when we were born again, we changed kingdoms and we are no longer to live by the dictates of the world. We have different laws, obligations and benefits the world does not and cannot enjoy. The featured picture today is of the Governor’s Mansion in Salt Lake City Utah. This of course is to remind us to pray for our government, all that are in authority. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 65:17-20 (KJV)
17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
Verse eighteen and nineteen of our primary Bible text are quite interesting for it makes it clear that the center of this new earth is the recreated city of Jerusalem. Israel will be a people before God forever. Jerusalem is the eternal capital of not just the Jewish people but all of God’s people in the earth. Let me ask you a question to mull over and comment on if you are so inspired. We see in this text and in the Revelation as well as 2nd Peter about the new heavens and the new earth. What about the current Heaven (abode of God)? Are there two places where God can be found in this time, will they be only in the New Jerusalem leaving the old (present) Heaven empty?
Now, let’s consider verse twenty. When does verse twenty occur? Is the Lord talking about the Millennial Reign period or another. It strikes me that it is indeed the Millennial Reign period due to the mention of the sinner. There will be no sinners in the new heaven and the new earth which follows the White Throne Judgement. There will be sinners during the Millennial Reign who did not convert during the time of Tribulation. In fact there will be a very large number who either never made Jesus Lord or who denounced Him in deception when the devil is released from the pit.
Revelation 20:7-9 (KJV)
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Let’s look at verse twenty in our primary text in the Message Bible and the Amplified translation.
Isaiah 65:20 (MSG)
20 No more babies dying in the cradle, or old people who don’t enjoy a full lifetime; One-hundredth birthdays will be considered normal— anything less will seem like a cheat.
Isaiah 65:20 (AMP)
20 There shall no more be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who dies prematurely; for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner who dies when only a hundred years old shall be [thought only a child, cut off because he is] accursed.
This should not be just a future reality for the natural people during the Millennium but a present reality for the children of God. In the Millennium you and I will be like the Lord with resurrected bodies that are immortal. Revelation 21:22-27 (KJV)
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
