JESUS RECEIVES OUR TITHE

Once again, we will be diving into this really popular topic of offerings (sarcasm) but first let’s review our anchor Scripture.
Nehemiah 12:44 (KJV)
44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
Once again today I am continuing to teach about tithing. It is the will of God for all of His children to tithe, it has been His will from the Garden of Eden to this day and forever. When Jesus had the opportunity, He did not tell us the tithe was passed away or passing away. The will of God changes not.
Matthew 23:23 (KJV)
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
This brings us to the Book of Hebrews and the final points of the Truth that the tithe is an eternal command.
Hebrews 7:8 (KJV)
8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
This is talking of the ascended Messiah. He, Jesus, receives our tithe through His under shepherds. Again, we are reminded that God changes not. Jesus has been around forever and has never changed and will never change.
Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Remember the first chapter of John where we are told that Jesus is the Word, and we know the Word changes not and that is confirmed in the preceding verse.
John 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus Himself in verse thirty-five below tells us that the Word of God cannot be broken, or one might say dissolved, it stands forever.
John 10:34-36 (KJV)
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Let us see what else Jesus said that might help us solidify in our thinking, our knowledge that the tithe stands today and forever.
Matthew 5:17-18 (KJV)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Look at the next verse!
Matthew 5:19 (KJV)
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Are you teaching people to tithe or are you teaching people no to tithe?
TAKE HOME:
- Are you teaching people not to tithe and not tithing yourself?
- It does not appear that failure to tithe will keep you out of Heaven but you sure will not hear “well done good and faithful servant”.
- We bring our tithe to a man on the earth but spiritually Jesus, our High Priest, receives our tithe in Heaven, it is a part of our treasure in Heaven.
