THE TITHE IS A FORESHADOWING OF THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

Greetings to all, and welcome to this special teaching to further illuminate the Truth of the Tithe. It is much more than throwing 10% of our increase into the plate for our tithe. Without further ado let’s delve once again into the passage of Scripture that first mentions the tithe by name.
WHAT WILL WE LEARN:
- Just as Abram recovered all so has Jesus. The people are recovered, the peoples stuff, and the stuff of the enemy. This is like Jubilee.
- We see the first mention of being joint heirs with God.
- We see the coming death/sacrifice of the Messiah assuring us of eternal life and a glorified body again.
- We see the mention of the coming King and Priest in whose image we are. We also are kings and priests.
Genesis 14:16-22 (KJV)
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
Note: We see that Abram recovered all just as 2000 years later Jesus would recover all – the people – their goods – and the goods of the enemy (as was the custom)
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
Note: Our evil enemies will always have someone to meet us after great victory. Looking for a way to get the people and their goods.
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
Note: God always sends someone as well, in this case the King of Salem (Jerusalem) interpreted as King of Peace, Melchizedek was also a priest. 2000 years later Jesus would raise from the dead King of kings and High Priest. In His image and likeness, we also are kings and priests (Rev 1:6). Notice the bread and the wine, the Communion Table signifying the coming death/sinless sacrifice and resurrection of the coming Messiah in great victory over the enemy recovering all.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
Note: Melchizedek blessed Abram just as Jesus has now blessed us, the Gentiles. Notice here that Melchizedek calls Abram possessor of heaven and earth yet later in verse 22 Abram says God is possessor of heaven and earth. Here we see the concept of being a joint heir.
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
Note: Now we see the tithe connected to and intertwined with redemption with the recovery of all, establishing joint heirs, the sacrifice and resurrection that brought us eternal life and a return to immortality. And once again those who would name Jesus as Lord are kings and priests in the earth.
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
Note: Now we see the devils play, he knows that if he can have the people he can have or control their stuff. He will get them thinking about the stuff.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
TAKE HOME:

Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
