FULL OF SILVER AND GOLD
Greeting precious saints and welcome back to this powerful and empowering exploration of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach of the good news. The very best news you or anyone else has ever received, the Word of God, the only body of Truth available. The featured picture today is provided by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. He has a wonderful eye, God given, for beautiful and eye-catching scenes.
God is so good to give us His Word so that we are not in the dark or guessing at what the will of God might be. Yes, our Heavenly Father wants us rich and healthy, yes, all the time. If we are in the dark about the will of God, it is not a reflection on God but upon us. That is not to say there are not mysteries but God is not withholding we must just push in for the answers and they will come. Some mysteries may not be uncovered in this lifetime but they will come as our foundations of understanding expand now and in that to come. There is an idea that suddenly upon going to Heaven we will know all things. That is a false idea. We will go on learning, most likely for eternity. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 2:6-8 (KJV)
6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Our God, our Lord, our Holy Spirit through the Prophet Isaiah is dealing with a people in full rebellion, dense darkness and don’t even know it just like today. This does not happen over night but little by little. I have used the example God gave me of the wedge. When a wedge is first applied to the base of a tree it is so little but as it creeps into the tree it fells a mighty tree. The mighty tree is fallen and must be rebuilt. The first old waste, desolate city, to be rebuilt by the Zerubbabel’s of our day, as in his day, is the Temple of God (which we are). Our text in verse seven tells us that Israel at that time (and now) was very rich and very well armed. Is America the richest nation and most powerful to ever grace the earth? Yes, and yes, it is! Is God talking to us? Yes! Are we to focus on the stuff that will pass away or on Him? On Him! This is not to say we are not to be exceedingly wealthy or have second to none armaments. They are not to be that upon which we primarily rest, focus, or depend upon. It is all about the heart and focus. Now, let’s look at the seventh verse in the Amplified Bible.
Isaiah 2:7 (AMP)
7 Their land also is full of silver and gold; neither is there any end to their treasures. Their land is also full of horses; neither is there any end to their chariots.
Does verse seven sound anything like what Jesus told the Apostle John about the Laodicean Church of that time?
Revelation 3:17-19 (KJV)
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
This is the Truth about the people of Isaiah’s time, John’s time, and our time. When will we learn the will of God and just do it? The eyesalve of Revelation 3:18 is the Word of God. Without the bright light, the only source of Truth, the Word of God, we will spend our days in bondage (eighteen is the number of bondage) and not even know it. Let our security be in Christ Jesus. The following Scripture is not teaching against being wealthy but is teaching us to not focus and depend upon it but depend first and foremost by far on our God.
1 Timothy 6:17 (KJV)
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
Notice our God will give is in abundance ALL things to enjoy. What is excluded either physical or spiritual? Nothing!

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
