A WELL OF TRUTH
COMMUNION

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog and A Well of Truth. Today we will be talking about Communion. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing, assisting us in disseminating the good news of the Kingdom of God. Our first glimpse of the Communion Table, the redemptive sacrifice, occurred in the Garden of Eden immediately on the Day of Sin and Death.
Genesis 3:21 (KJV)
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Our next look at the Communion Table and redemptive sacrifice comes when Abram rescues his nephew Lot.
Genesis 14:16-21 (KJV)
16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
In this account the King of Sodom is a type and shadow of Satan and Melchizedek is a type and shadow of Christ as King and High Priest. The bread was representative of the broken body of Jesus to come and the wine the shed Blood of Jesus to come. Don’t you think it is interesting that the tithe is an intricate part of this account? It is also interesting that the concept of being a joint-heir is an intricate part of this account. In this regard we see that Abram and God are both possessors of heaven and earth. Can a non-tither have full participation in the bounty of Heaven? Finally, we see that Satan (King of Sodom) wants the people and is willing that Abram take the stuff. Satan craves worship. Satan (the devil) offered Jesus the same deal in the wilderness. Before we move forward look back at verse twenty notice that all of Abrams enemies were delivered into his hand, and likewise the Father through Jesus has delivered our enemies into our hand. And, He did it through the bread and the wine, the broken body and shed blood of a sinless man. The Passover which is memorialized by the Communion Table we find codified in Leviticus chapter sixteen (great detail) and in the following passages.
Leviticus 23:5-6 (KJV)
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
Leviticus 23:12 (KJV)
12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
By the way, Jesus, The Lamb of God is sacrificed on Passover, He is the unleavened (sinless) bread, He shed the precious Blood which protects us from all the acts of the devil and eternal death. Before I finish for today, let’s look at some Biblical Numerology. This happens in the first month, one is the number of unity with God. When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are one with God. The number fourteen is the number of salvation and fifteen is the number of rest or God’s provision. In salvation we enter an eternal sabbath rest if we will take it by faith (another whole lengthy teaching). This feast is for seven days, seven being the number of spiritual perfection. At salvation we are reconciled forever with God. Fast forwarding to John the Baptist and the beginning of Jesus’ Ministry listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit through who Jesus called the greatest Prophet.
John 1:29 (KJV)
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Lord willing, I will continue with this teaching next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
