DOWN TO EGYPT FOR HELP

Greetings dear and precious saints of God in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this wonderful study of the exciting Bible Book of Isaiah. I trust that all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day whether it was story book or not.
Philippians 4:11 (AMP)
11 Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.
Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible in order to extend our reach beyond our capabilities alone. Thank you for sharing, this is important for you and for us but more so for the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today is of the Governors Mansion in the State of Arizona and is to remind us to pray for and to honor those in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (AMP)
1 FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
2 For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
I hear Christians say that they don’t know how to pray for this one or that one, well, this passage tells us what, how, to pray. Of course, those that have a prayer language can us it to pray the perfect will of God.
Titus 3:1 (AMP)
1 REMIND PEOPLE to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work,
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today continuing to read out loud. You remember why, right? Faith comes by hearing, it is impossible to please God without faith, and whatever is not of faith is sin.
Isaiah 31:1-3 (AMP)
1 WOE TO those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses and trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek and consult the Lord!
2 And yet He is wise and brings calamity and does not retract His words; He will arise against the house (the whole race) of evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.
3 Now the Egyptians are men and not God, and their horses are flesh and not spirit; and when the Lord stretches out His hand, both [Egypt] who helps will stumble, and [Judah] who is helped will fall, and they will all perish and be consumed together.
In the long run or short run, does anything good come from rebellion against God, from sin? In case you are confused, the correct answer is no, it always (always) brings stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives. Always, without exception, period. When we don’t think so just look at the fruit of our life and see what is going on because sometimes, we see things as just the way life is like having arthritis, hypertension, and so on. Those things are not the will of God, they are not the product of a disciplined mind, words, and actions. Will talk a little more about Egypt tomorrow, the Lord willing but right now I want to go back to last week’s lesson briefly.
Isaiah 30:33 (AMP)
33 For Topheth [a place of burning and abomination] has already been laid out and long ago prepared; yes, for the [Assyrian] king and [the god] Molech it has been made ready, its pyre made deep and large, with fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, kindles it.
Look what was going on in society when the Church (Israelites at that time) was in sin, in rebellion against the Truth. They were sacrificing the children. We are doing that today and not just in the abortion mills. Think about all the things and people between parents and even grandparents and children.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
